DPS distance localities wrongly mentioned by parents:

The are 2 fields in the online form to be filled in by parents:

1) Address (to be filled)

2) Locality (to be choosen from drop down options)

Parents are filling the address correctly as mentioned in thier residence proof but they are selecting locality which lies within the 8 km area.

Software will go by the locality & calculate the points even though the address lies out side 8 km range.

Eg: Address = Rajouri Garden (lies outside 8 km)

but parants chose locality as Naraina = which lies within 8 km & thus get 70 points.

Eg: Rajender Nagar (Old) = outside 8 km

Locality choosen = New Rajender Nagar = within 8 km

Eg: Address = Ashok Nagar = outside 8 km

Locality choosen = Hari Nagar = within 8 km

These parents will get only 20-25 points will be at the bottom of the ladder, but using above FRAUDULANT means will be amognst the top.

Will DPS also favour such parents as all have sibling/alumni points too ???

This is the reason why verification should be first undertaken and then the lottery. I'm not sure why DPS did the other way. this infact opens up possible window for school to negotiate with those ready to pay. SMART move
