there was at least some transparency in point system.a lottery system will put parents at total mercy of schools and if the lottery is run by hestate agencies then god only save us(wewillhave some hope with schools but sate agencies are totally unreliable and wholly corrupt).so whre do parents land.there will be utter chaos and schools will very easily squeeze money from already helpless parents.i can not believe that our politicians are too innocent to understand these simple implications.they are glove in hands with school running agencies(in many cases the glove is same as hand).the best thing that can be done is to issue a new set of guidelines for the point system.

I belong to some other sate and currently settled in Delhi. The situation (for the admission in a school) is not so bad in other states and its only Delhi where such a mess is created.

In my opinion, there must be some centralized system which must ensure that a child gets admission in the nearest school. And this should be the only criteria for a child's admission.
