Looks like their is tieup or DOE does not want to carry out its duties.  That is why schools are doing whatever they want.

Govt has given an open invite to schools to set their own criteria as long as they allow for 25% EWS quota. Schools can provide any justification they want on a case basis. Nothing much to be earned even after a response to RTI! Waste of time if you ask me .. though it might make schools a little (very very very .... little) more cautious about giving admissions against donations! Everyone knows this is the only criteria

Anand Ji - If you sit quietly, you are right - It is a waste of time - But I certainly did not.  I have persuaded the school to postpone its second draw of lots as the name mentioned in it were of children with fewer points.

 

And the biggest victory is that this particular school will think twice before taking any erroneous decision.

@Narinder: I applaud your persistence Narinder. You're right .. I gave up after pursuing only 13 schools - just couldn't gather the energy (and social/family pressure) to pursue any further. Hope your pursuit will drill some modicum of decency in these schools .. and will help someone in future. Keep up the good work

Sumit Ji

I have filed RTI on 18th March for:

1) Action taken by Mr. P Krishnamurthy on Memorandum filed by us on 09th Feb 11. I have asked the action taken against the schools who are not following RTE guidelines. Like Model School, Indian School and others.

2) Filed an RTI against Modern school for disclosing the point wise break up of the kids who all are given admission.

3) Against Bal Bharti - As they have also not given any point wise break up of the kids selected for nursery admission.
