School selection advise: DPS Mathura Road vs Others

hello all

We are looking for valuable and first hand advise for school selection. I stay in Defence Colony and an alumni of DPS Mathura Road. My son has been selected in DPS Mathura Road, Bhatnagar International , GHPS VV, Indian School and on waiting list for DPS International. Our first choice has been DPS Mathura Road because of the brand name, alumni experience and the distance. Can I seek suggestions to confirm our choice and also some first hand feedback about the school.

We have got mixed feedback about DPS Mathura Road and most notably against the EWS student integration approach and more students from a particular religious community which is affecting the diversity in the class and impacting certain students behaviour adversely. I have blocked the seat in the school and met the Principal this morning who also himself brought up the above issues in our discussion. While I agree on the EWS decision for overall upliftmemt of our society but the approach to integration of EWS students is something to be concerned about.

Right to Education Act cannot be changed.

This is not the request. I reiterate that I support the EWS category. The recent DOE circular is looking for government school teachers training the private school teachers. I am pointing the lack of preparedness to deal with the EWS students and the feedback from parents has not been encouraging.

No doubt DPS MR has lost of sheen due to various reasons and not the reasons you have posted.

Your other option is DPSI, if your are comfortable with Fees and Curriculum, you can go For DPSI. (As most probably your seat will get confirmed in DPSI and you have blocked your seat already.Rest school are not at par with DPS MR.).

Thank you. The seat is blocked only in DPS Mathura Road. For DPSI the waiting list is around 275 while seats are only 41. I am told that a lot of parents opt out of DPSI due to Cambridge board and fees so there could be a chance of our name coming but we are keeping our fingers crossed while still evaluating it the board and fees suit us and our requirements. Another option that we hope to hear on is Step By Step Noida as my son is a ward of the Step by Step Nursery school Panchsheel park. Looking for your views.
