@Manu: I think the Govt is equally responsible for this mess. They are as much to blame as the schools! Why blame schools alone?
There is 6th Pay comission, increase water tax, property tax, electricity charges schools need to cater to. Then there is general upkeep along with the burden of 25% free-ship (plus fee uniform and books)! Someone has to bear all these expenses - obviously, it would be the paying parents!
