Shifting to Delhi - Need help on admission for my son

Hi All,

I will be shifting to Delhi in the coming months. I would be staying in Dwarka. I need specific help with my son's admission this year. Can some one answer my questions:

1. My son's DOB is 09/09/2009. is he eligible for admissions this year?

2. As i am shifting, so will be taking a rented accommodation in dwarka from Jan. I heard that the schools demand a minimum 6 month old proof of residence at the time of admissions. is this true?

3. There are almost 33 schools in Dwarka, can someone help me to shortlist few based on all round education quality

Children born between 1st April, 2009 and 31st March, 2010 are eligible for nursery/Preschool admission. So your son is eligible for this year's admission. They give forms from Jan 1st 2013 to Jan 15th 2013. Forms will be available 3 or 4 schools and few schools provide download option and you can download the form and submit it. Rest you have to collect in person.

You can get transfer points and when are you shifting to Delhi?
If your child is first born then few schools give first born points.

There are almost more than 55 schools in Dwarka and what type of school are you looking for your child?

Amitesh, if you come on transfer,get transfer/joining letter .then school also understand your rental lease deed cannot be old get MTNL phone installed after coming.

Transfer criteria for DPS Dwarka

Parents who have been transferred to Delhi from overseas or other states excluding NCR Delhi due to service exigencies in the year 2012. (01 Jan 2012 till the date of registration) (applicable to Government employees only)

So they don't consider transfer case in pvt. organisation .

Thanks for your help. really appreciate. I did a small research based on the admission criteria in the excel sheet. i shortlisted the following schools. Please suggest if i have missed some or i need to remove some:

Modern Convent School
DPS Dwarka
Mount Carmel School
Bal Bharati Public School
N.K. BAGRODIA PUBLIC SCHOOL
BGS International
St.Thomas' School, Dwarka (affiliated to St.Thomas' School, Mandir Marg)
ST.GREGORIOS PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL (Nursery class is in Uttam Nagar branch)
"INDRAPRASTHA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

10. Sri Venkateshwar School

N.k.Bagrodia, Bal Bharti less chance. Mt.Carmel by draw of lot. St.Thomas they give more preference to girl child. BGS International more chances due to transferable and first born points added along with neighbourhood. Rest OK. Modern Convent you may get after a draw of lot for tie points. Add Basava School, Dwarka International, ITL, RD Rajpal to your list. Since you have a boy child add some more schools to your list.
