New Delhi: The first list of candidates selected for nursery are out in most schools but these are tentative at best. With the possibility of the Delhi high court changing the admission system altogether – perhaps this year itself – parents are not celebrating yet.
“If the high court quashes the existing points system,” says Mahesh Kumar, who has already completed the admission process for his kid at a Safdarjung Enclave school, “I want to know what will happen next. Will the school give a complete refund? Because, it is not my fault and I am not withdrawing my child from the school of my own accord.” (our featured Member Mr K Suresh Kumar)
“My kid got into four schools,” says Manish Singh, “ and I’ve already admitted him into one. But it was written at the bottom of the list that it is a tentative one.” He is hoping that the high court decision won’t change things for him.
“Nothing will change because there’s no monitoring,” says Suresh Jain whose child has not made it to any school. “If the system is scrapped, there’ll be last-minute chaos and schools will do what they want.” There are parents who haven’t managed to secure seats anywhere despite having good schools within “a few metres” of their homes. “My son hasn’t got through any school,” she said listing out a few prominent names with distances from her house in Vasant Vihar. “I wish the entire admission process is scrapped,” wrote a frustrated parent on admissionsnursery.com.
That the points system has some serious drawbacks is evident from the fact that G D Goenka, Vasant Kunj, will have practically an all-girls
class if all the kids in the first list take admission. Of the 75 children it has selected in the first list, only four are boys. The school had awarded 10 points for a girl child and this was independent of points allotted to a first child. In many schools, points were given for first or girl child. In another school, the vast majority of students belong to linguistic and cultural minorities. “It is most difficult for the regular middle class parents who don’t have enough money to pay for management seats,” says Sumit Vohra of admissionsnursery.com, “but I also find that parents have finally accepted the neighbourhood issue and have applied and admitted kids to schools closer home.”
However, several schools, fearing a repeat of the admission process, have chosen to withhold results. Ahlcon International School in Mayur Vihar has withheld the first list and will inform parents of developments on February 19; Sardar Patel Vidyalaya and Hansraj Model School, Punjabi Bagh, too are yet to come out with their lists. Despite the directorate of education asking schools to display the breakup of points earned by each candidate, several schools haven’t complied.

Like you my child has not been admitted to the school which is 100 meters from my house.
Like your kid have been selected for 4 schools in the 1st list and you will leave the other 3 schools. At the end of the story the other 3 seats left will the scools be sold at a good price after the admission process is finished.
I will ask parents not to creat chaos. Let the admission process finish you will find all the seats be selling at the last moment. Just get prepared to bribe.
If my kid would be a girl he would have been selected in many if the schools.
All these point systems have been formulated by the schools to make fool of parents.
Secondly what about the management seats. The schools says these seats are reserved fir those who have done something fir our community for the scool over years. The school management consist of people with aged 40-60 years, do they have the kids to be admitted. NO. They all will be sold at last.
The schools should declare the list of kids admitted in the management quota along with the 1st list, see wether they have any contribution over years.
At last parents with money to bribe wish you a congratulations.
Parents with no money yo bribe wish you best of luck.

although my son have got a call from a good school where i dint had neither the alumini nor siblings points,even after one and half month of admission stress, there is no relief and no celebration, the fear of high courts decision is keeping me awake at nights. i dont know when this trauma will end, at the end their will be some parent or the other who has 2 suffer but i think now its too late for making any changes this yr. whatever is the result it should be quick as its creating a chaos amongst all the parents.

The hc decision will not do anything.
It will not be applicable on non aided schools.
There is no authority to keep a check on them
Once kid is admitted no parent will come forward to fight.
The decision is so delayed, that it is not possible for them to make any changes.
This topic has been raised only to distract parents.
There are many aided schools in Delhi who will accept the court decision like sardar Patel vidhalaya which is one of the best schools and there plays a major roll.

As same in my case, i have applied in 12 schools in my 5 km radius, 9 schools list is out nd its my bad luck dat my kid is not in either of them..

I have applied for 31 schools for all them I had deposited the form personally.
I paid special attention that no mistake is made.
I have recd calls from schools which are 8-12 km far, but no calls from the nearby schools

Look, you posted a blog, few valid points mentioned, appreciated your voice against management seat by me as well. but now why are you putting it everywhere so many times?? you are cutting and pasting few portions of the message which actually misleading many... I hope you are not indirectly telling parents to come and buy seats which will secure one for generations to go! If someone is even thinking about buying one - thats a clear case of bribing or money dealing under the table! Not recommended at all!
The newspaper clarified that they cannot write my real name.. so they did so irrespective of my saying i have no issue of disclosing my name.
As far as the reporter's identity goes, have contacted the concerned person for the same!

I have applied for a nursery seat in 25 schools in south delhi... Many channels has already reported and shown it on TV as well with my point of view on the admission kios.
Now tell me, you are here for few days, posted a blog and diverting everyone to read your blog.. At the end of your blog, you smartly sent a message to everyone to buy a seat under management and it'll be secured for ever, generations? You tell me now what is your motive? when everyone here OBJECT to the current baseless point system and ANY type of quota seats including your management quota.

We stay in Vasant Vihar and fall in the EMS segment. my kid didnt get through to any of the schools we had applied for because we didnt have alumini or sibling points. Does that mean he dosnt deserve to go to a decent school? What kind of country do we stay in where school admiaaions are a pain. Hate it! Hoping for the best from HC Verdict or else he wouldnt be going to a school this year atleast.
