Today on 22/9/09 we went for our interview at Apeejay-BY Mr abhishek Goenka
Hello. Today on 22/9/09 we went for our interview at Apeejay. It was a n very easy discussion. Once we reached the room there was a teacher who checked our name and number in the list. Then she gave us a paper to fill the childs name in it along with the registration number and the parents name. We had to pin up the paper on the childs shirt and then wait for our call. After about 15 mins we were sent to another room and asked to wait outside. The kid was taken inside where there was a teacher with puzzles and other such things. She asked the kid to make some puzzles and then asked him to sing a poetry. After about 5 mins we were called in the same room and asked to sit. There were 3 teachers who interacted with us and asked us questions - 1) She asked me since you (father) are working the wife has the entire responsibility of the kid. How do you spend the time with your kid and how? 2) What does u'r child like to do the most? 3) What do u expect from the school? 4) Since u'r child is so energetic, how do you handle him? These were the only 4 questions which were asked. We were also informed that the list of the shortlisted candidates will be displayed in the school on 24/9/09 at 3.00pm.

No not at all. He was more than happy to play. In fact there were 2 - 3 kids more in the same room and their parents were waiting outside. I did not see even a single kid crying in any of the class.

Hi! Thanks for the nice and vivid description. Just wanted to ask you.... what kind of puzzles were given to your son? Also I've heard they ask kids to do colouring.... were the activities different for different people?

I was not exactly able to see what kind of puzzles were there as we were standing outside. Its just when we were asked to enter the room to interact we just peeped on what all was there on the table. And yes there were colours also. We had spoken to another parent while outside the school and she said that her son son was asked to do colouring.

Anything specific u think that the school is looking at? Would this be the only session you would have or would there be some second round as well?

What me and my wife really felt from within was that in this 1st round they just wanted to interact with the parents just to see how well they can communicate, about their thoughts or are they qualified enough to take good care of their kids. Some how I did not feel that they interacted much with the kid or asked him to many things. In our case just a poem. They did not even ask the child his name. 5 mins and we were done. As far as the 2nd round is concerned I have no idea about it.

Hey, its very clearly mentioned on Apeejay's website that "Short listed candidates are forwarded to the selection committee for parent and child interaction. The committee comprises of Principal, Vice-Principal, Incharge Pre-Primary". So there should be a second round of interaction.

But Apeejay teachers told us that the list of shortlisted candidates will be displayed on 25/9/09 at 3.00 pm.

The class room in which we were seated it was clearly written on the white board that the list of the short listed candidates w/b displayed on 24/9 at 3.00pm. What I think that we had our interaction on 22/9 and so the list of that days interaction w/b displayed on 24/9. Parents who had interacted on 23/9 their list should be displayed on 25/9. Well I w/b going to the school tomorrow to check the list. Will update details tomorrow night on this website.

see it depends upon the interaction date. we also had oyr interaction on 22nd and the result is to be displayed on 24th

My child's interaction date is 25.9.09. So it means one more short-list will come.

I called up Apeejay today the results for 22nd interaction will be displayed on the board @3pm today 24/09
