TOI - 22 feb - Nursery woes reach Sisodia

NEW DELHI: Now that there's an education minister in place, parents who had applied for nursery seats have already started sending Manish Sisodia representations. There are complaints against schools for not refunding fees and Directorate of Education for not taking action against schools despite acknowledging grievances.

"I have complained to DoE against the malpractices followed by the school, but since getting their acknowledgement I did not hear from them," writes one parent to the minister.

Parents and activists, collectively calling themselves "concerned parents", too, have written to Sisodia complaining against DoE and appealing to AAP's commitment to fighting corruption. "We would like to bring to your notice to the corruption happening in Delhi schools that DoE is turning a blind eye to. We hope that AAP will live up to its name and take action against flagrant corruption," says the letter.

Sisodia had taken active interest in the nursery admission process last year, releasing a helpline and introducing a variety of measures for grievance redress.

There are some parents who paid the donation as was coerced into as there was no choice even after their name selected in draw without any reciept and they have been only given reciept of 3 month advance fees and high admission fees. So obviuosly they donot have reciept of donation .They are just silent as they fear future of their ward in the hands of school faculty to complain against as if there is any leak from DOE of identity, which no body trust.pls guide how to proceed ,complain only has viability if certain proof is given.
Very true Smita.... I am one of the case relating to this situation...

we the parents have certain responsibilities towards our children. we all have to stand up and say no to donations .Then only we can stop schools for asking donations. every child has the right to education and no one can deny this.

some of the suggestion for the nursery admission:

we should see  that every school nursery admission committee has parents as members so that there is transparency in the admission

lottery should  be drawn in front of parents

one more shift can be added
