Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2025-26

Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools

No matter how much we praise the new point system but it is becoming nightmare for the parents of kids who scored just the distance points.

Now, I think, the previous point system was ok.

I have all top schools within 3 km of my home (South Delhi) but since the criteria is 8 km and number of applications has increased manifolds (AS STATED BY MR VOHRA IN OTHER POST) in all schools just due to this, I have no chance.

Almost all top 15 schools are saying they have more application > 75 points for total number of seats. That means my kids doesn't even get a opportunity to be included in a lucky Draw. THE END OF THE ROAD FOR PARENTS WITH 70 POINTS.

Mr VOHRA Can we still think something about this??

People are getting nervous and hopeless due to this.

Find some GOVERNMENT CRAPPY SCHOOL GUYS OR GO TO SOME OTHER CITY...

I AM FRUSTRATED TO MY CORE!!!!

Which newspaper

I so much agree with the validity issue of transfer cases ...

we first time admission seekers, specially parents of male children are at total loss.

and what's more annoying is the flaws in the system .for example the lottery system for girl child will b conducted for all the girls getting 70 or more points but a girl who already has a sibling studying in the same school will ideally automatically secure a seat(90 pointholder).. so why to add her name during the lottery???

now coming back to the fate of 70pointers... in areas like dwarka, vasantkunj vasant vihar and pitampura I am sure parents would hv tried in almost all schools in 8kms radius.so thrs a fair amount of chance to wait n watch till the second list comes out as there are about 25 decent schools in all these areas.(just guessing that approx. 3000 seats will be catered to )

but what do we parents residing in west delhi do ??? (areas like rajouri lose to the south delhi race by 1-2 km aerial radius.. imagine .. we don't hv many sought after schools here ...the saddest part is that fake transfer cases will marr the chances of first time parents seeking admissions..

for eg bal bharati pusa road and springdales pusa rd hav recvd more than 5000 applications... I am just presuming that tie breaker lottery will b conducted at 75points for these schools.. now the tragedy is that an alumni within 8 km radius(75point holder) will have to share his fate with that of a transfer case god knows which will b true or not .... so isn't it unjust.. what is the idea of getting mere 5points for even being an alumni of that school ?

for the first time I feel that schools were to an extent right in fighting for the cause of their rights to have at least some autonomy while deciding the points...

this entire admission season I guess is jinxed , the new point system an utter failure and hastily planned ..

many heartbreaks and disappointments in store..

all the parents dream of sending their kids to good schools if not the best...

but here I feel mr najeeb jung has planned a jung in our naseeb!!!good luck 70pointers...

Agree with Gulsheen. In South delhi areas, even if we assume 60 transfer cases, the total number of seats would be like 3000. so in the 2nd lists, 70 pointers will also get a good chance. And one simple way of handling transfer cases is to ask for transfer letter plus a registered lease in the name of employee or his organisation for the state from where transfer is happening, registered lease can't be fudged. Because stamping is mostly online now. And it isn't difficult or procedurally tiresome for schools to check just one additional document. Other measures like checking with organisation etc are (a) not foolproof (b) impractical for schools to administer. That said, for south delhi, I am still pretty hopeful. Hope keeps us alive!

Girls already selected on sibling or other criteria will not be considered for girl child lottery

Most Dwarka sectors are within 8 Km radius of Rajouri Garden

I agree tfr may not be relevant for nursery admissions

Hard to get a duplicate tfr certificate. Try getting one from your organization and you would know. It is on a company letter head, so company can be liable in case of fake. Schools will most definitely ask for additional proofs /  verifications.

We need biggies like TOI and Hindustan Times to cover this issue with data of all schools where lottery will happen only among 75 points.Whatever analysis we r doing here is of no use...MANY SCHOOLS HAD COME WITH THE LIST AND NOWHERE 70 IS COMING INTO PICTURE...ONLY HOPE SEEMS HC STAY AS MINISTERS R UNLIKELY TO REVISE/REMOVE INTERSTATE TRANSFER AT THIS STAGE...WAKE UP, WRITE TO HNRBLE MANISH SISODIA JEE, JUNG JEE , DOE , MEDIA ......LET US HAVE A VERY BIG STORY IN ALL LEADING NEWSPAPER TOMORROW BEFORE THE DAMAGE IS DONE.....

I know of kids who went to playschool with my son in delhi with interstate transfer points.....its the biggest sham

I wrote to many people yesterday but only Dr. HarshVardhan (BJP cm candidate) has responded, he said that he will raise this matter with LG.. Dr Harsh Vardhan seems to be a copassionate man. You too can write to him.
I personally met law minister Mr. Somnath Bharti today, half and hour back. He accepted that this is unfair and have promised to take this matter with LG.. It would be extremely nice if someone can write or meet LG. I suggest all parents should write/meet to these people
you can find contact details of these people over the net... If more parents take up this issue personally and give thier contribution impact would be more.
We know that there is a problem.. lets work for the solution. If there are any lawyers please help...

What we should also do is ask schools to have waiting lists of 50-75 people at least. That will reduce the need for other draw of lots later, once the higher points guys are accommodated. Key metric is total number of seats in all schools in 8 km radius of our house vs total number of people with more than 70 points (where there will be duplications today across schools)

Absolutely agree , wait list in order of preference would make sense. Prevents parents from visiting for further lotteries . Assures of no malpractices during subsequent lotteries.

Biggest problem is this 8 km nonsense. Even if I stay in Vasant vihar, I have no chance because the whole city is virtually covered in 8 radial kilometres, that's why all of us are at 70 points in every school. In the earlier system, we would have higher points in schools that were truly close by ie truly neighbourhood and lower in schools that were slightly farther, even if within 8 kms (by road, not aerially!). That way, everyone had hope. Now, it's all equal. And if everyone applies to 10 schools (I have applied to 18), the number of applications everywhere is huge.

Every option has its pros and cons. If the distance points were staggered, lots of areas would have had virtually no good schools within 0-3 Km and they would stand no chance in 3-8 Km schools with even lower points.

With this 0-8 criteria, it is largely on draws that a student gets selected. Rest assured there will be multiple lists. Everyone has filled for many many schools. Even those with 75-80 points will eventually take admission in only one. :-)

May be , just with schools like DPS there is little chance for 70 points. This is the most sought after school and would have had lots of sibling / alumni over the years. so no surprises there.

Dear All,Having gone through the discussion and also being an affected parent,I strongly feel that Legal recourse is the only option available to us.My strong support to all who want to venture in that direction.....
