Comment Punam this is the mail that i recieved from DPS in answer to my question:

The names will be pulled out even if there is no one present...the only problem is we will presume that the child has got admn elsewhere and hence they are not here...in case parents are keen for admn but cannot come, they MUST give a letter of intent to the undersigned.

Nursery Admissions
23th September '10

Dear Parents,

Delhi Public School Sector 45, Gurgaon has adopted the following policy for admission to Nursery for the year 2011-2012.

No. of seats - 200
Date for the draw of lots - Friday, 24th September '10
Time - 3:00 pm
Venue - School Auditorium

Reminder:-

* Please carry your original registration slip. Only 1 parent with the Original Registration Slip will be allowed entry. Photocopy of same will not be allowed.
* Children will not be allowed inside the school.
* Entry will be allowed only from the main gate at 2:45 p.m.

* There will be no screening of the children or the parents.
* There will be a draw of lots in full view of the applicants.
* One person per applicant could be present for the draw of lots.
* The draw of lots will be done in camera and in the presence of the Chairman of DPS Gurgaon (or his nominee), the Pro Vice Chairperson (or her nominee),
The Principal (or her nominee), a Parent Rep, and a staff Rep.
* After the draw of 200 names, an additional 10 names will be drawn out and put on a wait list (to fill future vacancies if they arise).
* The result of the draw will be final and binding for all.
