i think draw of lots process is best way of selection kids to admission.
I have a simple question for all the parents advocating for 4yrs to 4yrs 11months 29days age group for nursery admission. If the age limit remains at 3+, will they let their kids stay at home for 1 more year (as it is not a compulsion to admit at min. age).

Also, if the age limit is increased to 4+, many smart parents will admit their wards in KG instead of nursery as those in prev. batch are of the same age group.
i think d point system was fair enough

Lalita ji..Thanks for your time to formulate a solution. We really feel like person without a head as we are not able to get any idea about our kids future. What a chaos those who are selected are confused and not to ask about those who think they can break a hard luck in coming days. Nothing clear what is going to happen this year. Without re-draw schools are asking parents for admission. Now what to assume about who all are getting admission.

The guideline has creaded a hefty mess this time and we are lost. Please send you suggestions to LG so he can have a look in spare time and decide for next year with help of your ideas.

Lottery  system with distance criteria and sibling category .  but fair lottery system let doe to handle all lotteries of all school one by one which may run like our national elections but it will be fair and final date to be set accordingly once all draws done.

This is the best way ....for selection.no points should be there except distance criteria .every child should hav a fair chance.
Y point system or lucky draw the best way is through proper admission routine of checking elegibilty of age then interview of child n parents. Why should we parents apply at 10 various schools n then be on mercy of the school lucky draw. Its no JUA (gamble) its for education then why lucky draw.

Point system with emphasis on Distance (slab wise similar to EWS) + Sibling.

If Alumni to be added then Cap of 5% on Alumni (though should be avoided)

Also for EWS it should be only for poor (irrespective of religion/caste etc) and no quota for any group based on caste only. Also if someone has taken admission under EWS then no sibling quota for him in future.

Option, 1.All these criteria alumni, sibling, girl child ,ews should be removed. Why this that if some one is associated with a school ,he or she and their future generations are secured. Wat abt others ,. Why such discrimination, not fair. Each child has equal right .any criteria is not justifying fundamental right .

Or,
2.if not removed, introduce quota for alumni and sibling also , and let them compete among them selves .

3. Plz give age relaxation up to five.
The tiny tots are too small to bear the burden of books. I think they should go to playway schools for two yrs I.e till the age of 4 atleast. There the interest of kids should be noticed and groomed them the same way.
now, for nursery admission der should be no interview of small kids...the process should be simple...two points should be kept in mind distance and siblings...rest formalities for everyone should be the same. Check the papers and give admission..interview has nothing to do with these babies...what do the school authorities want to check whether the child is eligible to be a part of there school or not..to my surprise what are they sitting there for...no body interviewed them when they were small and now they are running a school...it is the school who builds the future.
lucky draw is just a time pass like tambola...seeking admission for our kids is not playing tambola please, like 1st line complete..admission granted, corners complete....waiting list..common...please not every non sense should be implied.
I think the age criteria as per DOE has not been followed by any school coz when i am checking the draw of lots result of those schools which have displayed the results after change in guidelines I can see overage written in front of my child's name,he has completed 4 years in Jan 2014. SFS janakpuri, DPS dwarka(name is not there in the list of general category for which draw of lots will happen tomorrow), Salwan junior school (overage). Seats r less for KG kids in schools can you tell me what else I can do to get my child admitted in a school where I want to see him study.
