WHAT SHOULD BE THE PROCESS FOR NURSERY ADMISSIONS IN DELHI AND NCR--- POINT SYSTEM, DRAW OF LOTS ,SCREENING or SOMETHING ELSE, ALSO WHAT SHOULD BE THE AGE CRITERIA ?GIVE YOUR OPINION
What are your views on this new Draw of lots Process ?
What could be the Nursery Admission Process acceptable to all ?
We would like your opinion to raise this issue to higher level we feel that it is the parents community who should also be the part of decision making process !!

HI Heena,
I think my background is similar to yours....being at home and eldest amongst the family I have been given an oppurtunity to go ahead in all activities what I liked ....I've gone uptill national level in both swimming and dance IN KV Sangathan group. But i do look forward to not a burdensome academics but an experimental as well as disiplined atmoesphere for my chid. and I just don't want to get into rut of DPS and amity....so here I'm relying completely on new schools and trying to courageous on trying for new schools such as ardee and Ridge valley...whereas I feel...that education cannot be imposed thus I want her to learn in her own way...the way she is learning right now in her play school....I'm actually looking for the school which carries the same system further.....But There is so much confusion ...that I'm unable to come to a conclusion......

Suggestion for Lottery system:
Suppose a school receives 2500 applications. Place a notice regarding date and timing for Draw of Lots on the School Notice Board as well as on the website. Display the list of 2500 applicants on notice board in front of everyone. Prepare 2500 small hard paper or plastric stickers having form no. on each sticker. Drop all 2500 stickers in the box in the presence of all. Start draw of lots. Nominate 2-3 members committee consisting one parent, one school staff and the third one from any independent agenc (may be any official from Dte of Edn). Now any one parent should take out few stickers - say about 10 or 20 or 30. The committee should carry on marking the list simultaneously in the order of stickers to the no. of seats displayed on website. The parent chosen for taking out the stickers should be changed from time to time. Draw of lots must be carried out for waiting list (10% of total vacancies) also. Get the list signed from the committee. No change should be allowed in this list. Follow the schedule of admission formalities accordingly. Day to day status of students admitted vide Admission No. must be displayed on the website till the last date of admission. If anyone does not take admission offer the seat to the waitlisted applicant in their order of merit.

Very much acceptable Mr. Tanwar.
Also those parents who have got their ward admitted to some other school before the lottery in this school, must responsibly get their registrations canceled for the lottery, thus avoiding multiplicity and increasing the chances of success for other students. Easier still would be that those who are not present for the lottery must not have their names in the draw box.

How can 10-15 people who are actually engaged in the conversation decide that the lottery system is the best. I differ and there will be hundreds like me. Sumit, as a person responsible for the interest of the entire community, you need to have a vote on account and not simply construe that 10-15 people represent all of us. There must be substantial representation.
Aditi, you can ask for a cancellation and draw of lots when the entire community agrees that draw of lots is the better system. I am of the opinion that a parent – school interaction is a must it will help take care of a lot of sensitivities. Sombody mentioned that they have been swimmers – maybe for that parent having this facility is of utmost importance. We must fully understand the school we are putting our children in and the school should in turn be free to understand us.

i agree with pranav parents who got selected are supporting lottery ,what about who got dejected ? webmaster is doing the right job by starting a poll and only 30-35% are in favour of lottery (as per poll today)
