Age criteria for playgroup (confusing)

Hi,

I am new to Delhi and have a 2 year old daughter, Manasi. I can understand that the general age criteria for nursery is 3+ which means my daughter can go to a playgroup  till then. Bu I also see that playgroups such as eurokids offer nursery education for 2 1/2 yearolds which means by next June, Manasi can join nursery. But the question is will she be given admission in other schools (like DPS or Mt.Carmel) for kindergarten later or will she be rejected on the age criteria. In that case I can wait now as I dont want my  child studying in nursery for two years. Please advise.

I think you are confused with nursery and pre-nursery. At 2 1/2 years parents put their kids in play group or pre-nursery. For nursery admission child should be completed 3+ as on 31st March on year of seeking admission. Studying nursery in any play school, in no way guarantee admission in nursery in any school since schools does not allot any point for kid studying in play school.  DPS follow point system where age is 3+ and in Mt.Carmel follow lot system where age is 3 1/2 years since it comes under minority school.
