Distance Criteria..pls help

Dear Latha ji, can u pls explain how the schools decide on the distance criteria points...do the schools have fixed distances based on the localities..or is it calculated according to their bus routes?? pls help...now the distance criteria has become most imp point...pls help us parents in making the right strategy for applying in schools..

Schools are giving weightage to neighbourhood as per the neighbourhood parameter. Like 7 km, 15 km, 25 km and above. They consider children within a radius of  that km under the neighbourhood parameter. Refer the excel sheet on top of the home page of the distance criteria fixed by different schools.
