No capitation fee and screening procedure for admission.-

1. No school or person shall, while admitting a child, collect any capitation fee and subject the child or his or her parents or guardian to any screening procedure.

2. Any school or person, if in contravention of the provisions of sub-section (1),

a. receives capitation fee, shall be punishable with fine which may extend to ten times the capitation fee charged;

Keep as last option and you can get admission even at later stage. Don't panic. Wait for first list.


b. subjects a child to screening procedure, shall be punishable with fine which may extend to twenty-five thousand rupees for the first contravention and fifty thousand rupees for each subsequent contraventions.

I feel parents are equally responsible for this current trend.

You can just visit but keep it as last option. Don't panic. Wait for first list.

Thanks Lathaa...yes DIS anyways is not on my priority list. So even I would like to avoid been pitched for admission right away.

On a second note, I checked around 4500 applications for mere 100 something seats in Modern Convent. This scares me as a parent how much possibility my child holds for securing a seat in a good school.
