My son who will be completing 7 years in January, is right now in Second class. First I am not very happy with his school - no stress on spoken english, no proper infrastructure, playground, audi, etc, School is till 10th class only. We got him placed there as we could not get a seat anywhere despite of the fact we filled in 17 school forms back then.
Second , I have observed many of his friends are either 7 yrs + or 8 yrs. Does this actually effects a child learning power. He is the youngest in his class.Should I go for a repeat in Class 2 or go for
Class 3 admissions. I am also not happy with the foundation or base. He is good in extra curriculars and Hindi. But his reading in English is not going good and thus all other subjects are getting effected.
I am confused whether should I make him repeat his Class 2 in some other school or take things forward here only as some people suggest boys get serious once they reach 4th or 5th standard , but that would be very late. By then, we can't work on the basics.
Also, please suggest good schools in West Delhi or Dwarka area where I can check for admission.
Awaiting some advice.

Thanks for the reference, Sakshi. I have read it and getting a feeling of not to repeat his class.
But won't that put pressure on him in his 3rd or 4th when he is struggling to read? The syllabus wont allow him space.
And if I make him repeat 2nd, he definitely will be late to get entry into jobs, but is not the scenario we see, freshers/grads/PGs struggling for minimum of 2-3 years to get a head start in their career?? So the years which we WASTE after studying everything, why not to INVEST right now ?
I hope am not sounding against the reference, just looking for an expert advice. Thanks for your response.
I can understand your struggling as a parent. This is not a case with you alone and most of parents face it. But repeating the same class does not solve his problem. He is a brilliant child since he is good in extracurricular activities and Hindi. You have to just focus a little more in English. If you can spend more time it would be good. Else you can also make him to join in a good Kumon classes in your area for English. They assist in proficiency skills. Repeated and monitored oral reading improves reading fluency and overall reading achievement. Students who read and reread passages orally as they receive guidance and feedback become better readers. Repeated oral reading substantially improves word recognition, speed, and accuracy as well as fluency. To a lesser but still considerable extent, repeated oral reading also improves reading comprehension. Repeated oral reading improves the reading ability of all students throughout the elementary school years. It also helps struggling readers at higher grade levels. Just your child need little extra care. In Dwarka many schools are there and you can give application to few schools you wish.
@Sejal Shgal. Which school is you child going. Admission in class 3 depends on vacancy. Some schools may give you chance.
