Please suggest if a child can get an admission directly in KG even if the child has not completed Nursery from a formal school.

This condition may arise to some parents who do not get admissions this year and due to that, next year their wards wound not be eligble to apply for Nursery classes due to age limit.

Yes you can .As nursery is not mandatory to be done by formal school.

Thanks Shakshi. This makes sense.

As per RTE Act 2009, every child must be admitted in a school to age appropriate. This clarifies no formal schooling is required. An affidavit is to be submitted that the child has been imparted age appropriate education at home itself. However, it becomes a bit compulsory to know basics of learning to age appropriate at home itself so that he/she can adjust with the curriculum of that class in which he is going to be admitted.  The discretion remains solely with the school concerned. Support can be ascertained from the govt. authority in case of denial.

Thanks for the detailed info.

Regards

Can you suggest the possible options if a child does not get admission this year into Nursery (apart from home schooling)?

Continue with Play school or impart age appropriate tuition at home. There are schools in NCR where you can try.
