Criteria & Test type for Prep Admission (After Nursery completion) 2015-16

Dear Members/ Moderators,

Can anyone guide me on what is the criteria of Mount Carmel School for Prep Admission:

  • Is age criteria still applicable in Prep like in Nursery (if yes is the cut off date sep 30th?)
  • If written test is conducted what type of preparation should a child do like - written alphabets -ato z (Capital or small), numbers-1 to 50/100 and oral English & maths
  • General awareness
  • Points on English speaking etc.

Plz if anyone has any idea or if moderators have ever discussed this before on this forum shall appreciate if you could share the link it shall be very useful.

As the school will bring out forms In Jan '15.

After our founder's Mr Vohra complaint and show cause notice served to mount carmel  school now age criteria is 3 yrs on 31mar for nursery`.

LAST YEAR AUTONOMY WAS GIVEN TO CONVENTS (MINORITY SCHOOLS) SO WAIT AND WATCH POLICY NEEDS TO BE FOLLOWED AS EVERY THING WOULD BE NEW (ON SCHOOLS WHIMS N FANCIES)

Thanks for the clarification Sakshi

However my query is in case of Prep /KG too the schools have any mandate to follow DOE guidelines / guidelines of some other regulatory body am not sure on that.

Moreover in case of minority schools they as it is do not come under the ambit of DOE regulations (as this was experienced by us last year) when my daughter had to go for nursery admissions. they have their own set of rules and they donot follow DOE guidelines in any case.

Please throw some light on this and if at all these schools are governed by some rules when are the guidelines expected to come.
