Learning of last sessions' admission process- Pl share

Hi All

I was going through different discussions and information sharing happening on various groups.

I am also one of admission seeking parents.

I found that there were/ are parents who applied for 20-25 schools during last sessions and I believe that they managed all eligibility criteria of these schools.

However, I am interested in knowing the reasons of their kid not getting admission in any school. Are admissions happening only because of luck? or there are some process lapses at parent's end? I am aware that schools are not transparent in their admission process.

It will be good if these parents can share their learning for other's benefit.

So what should admission aspiring parent do after finishing all formalities? is it waiting for luck to shine?

Yes... My son got admission in a school last year where he scored the least that is some 25 points ( only distance points as the school in within 1.5 km) and we could not get him secure a seat in other schools where the score was ranging between 35-50 as per the points system with distance, first child, boy child points in action...

We applied in some 15 schools in total within maximum 8 kms range , completed all formalities as asked for, wrote letters and essays for why we want our child to be given admission in that particular school....If we would have known this would happen... we won't have wasted our effort , time and money.One of the schools opted for the lottery system with no prior information being sent to the parents who applied.

Though , I am not at all complaining about his present school now. I am quiet satisfied, but in such a case there should be some rule or surety by the authorities as you will get admission in this or that school depending upon related factors, so that those who cant afford to waste resources do not run here and there....

Still ,I hope parents do get their children secure admission in a school they wish for..because the saying NO PAIN No Gain won't come handy here!!! Its actually luck ..which will play its part....
