@Nupur: I can tell you about last year. After we filled in the forms, there were be 2 elimination rounds. Both rounds had interview of the parents and the child.

The first interview (its more of a discussion) happened in one of the classrooms where we had 2 teachers interviewing parents based on the contents they had filled in, in the form and the third teacher was talking to the child some distance away from where the parents were sitting.

Those selected for the next round went through a discussion - this time with the principal in his room, and another teacher interviewing the child in the same room.

Final selection list comes up on their notice board, and they also call up the selected kids to let them know about the fees submission last date.

Do you also know is there is weightage for some other points - like siblings, parents' income, distance etc?

I hope my child is in mood for interaction that day :-)

i had got my daughter admission done last year...i can brief u the process of last year...

The first stage is to fill the form

At the time of submission of form they will give u the date and time of first interaction with child

First interaction normally is for 5-10 min where teacher in front of parents ask your kids about some color, or toy, or shape or vegetable..they will ask to recite some poem of his/her choice...another teacher interact with parents and ask for your qualification, where do u stay, how do u manage kids, etc some general quesitons

During first interaction they will display date of result announcement on black board in the meeting room. you need to go to school gate to see the result as they normally dont publish any online result..this is what many parents dont like :-)

the first interaction result will display the name of child and the second interaction date. 

the second interaction is normally with principal. here also parents and kids both have to come.

In second interaction normally one teacher will talk to kid in one corner of principal room and on the other side prinicipal will talk to u on general topics.

At the end they will tell that if your ward will be selected then they will call u through phone. they normally dont display any final list...

So above is the process of the whole format...

Now coming to the second part of what is criteria of selection....

Frankly telling, till now i could not udnerstand any logic on selection crteria with such basic quesitons. just make sure your kid answers all questions asked and that increases the probability of selection

Thanks Amit! My kid is very sharp otherwise, but ofcourse there is no gaurantee he would open up in front of the teachers that day..Lets see :-)

How are you finding the school anyways, for nursery kids?
