In my view :

1) There should be uniform point system for all schools. In fact neighbourhood should be the only criteria with lateral entry in higher class based on some test.

2) School should increase number of seats so as to compensate for General Category due to EWS, Alumni and other quota.

3) Uniform level of education should be in all schools meeting the criteria for currculum, approach of teaching, environment. This would avoid rush towards a few good schools.
