Tell your own story of shyness and how you overcame it and child will feel better and feel a powerful model to follow.
You can explain the more immediate value to the child of outgoing behavior, such as making more friends, having more fun, and enjoying school and other social activities more.
Show empathy. By showing parent helps the child feel understood and accepted and also helps the child identify and talk about his or her emotions and start searching for a way to control them.
Don't label your child as "Shy" in front of her or in front of others.Instead you can say that my child take some time to warm up. If he does anything better tell him how bold he is.
Make your speak few words to new people or friends everyday. And make a chart and give her star or smile each day. Measure your child's progress through this method.
Children learn by observing the behavior of parents. You be outgoing whenever possible. Talk with children the age of your child and set a model and show how to interact with others.
Develop Confidence and expose your kid to unfamilar people like ask him to order things in a shop and in a playground ask him to express to others what he need.
Prompt you child to say his name or hello or good bye to others.
Praise the child even for a little improvement and rewards with stars or special food and motivate his outgoing behaviour. Comment positively of others outgoing behaviour.
He may control the feelings of embarrassment and fear when the he tries to identify and talk about the feelings. To help the him develop these skills, talk about your emotions in front of the children. Praise the him when he talk about his emotions.
Provide support, security, encouragement, opportunities, and skills for interaction.
Don't over protect and let child learn to do her own things and give enough space.
