i think gd goenka dwarka can compete on most of the parameters .

kr is good swimming pool is missing and i guess play ground is smaller than standard ones but yes there is shortage in west delhi

But, Dwarka seems to be quite far from Vikaspuri, considering that our ward is applying for nursery only.

Please provide some details about K.R.Mangalam. Is the school only suited for buisness families? What are its strength & weaknesses? How is discipline & academics?

Its expensive but sought after. Not very old,but mixed feedback.

But Gk branch has positive feedback.

But GK appears too far from Vikaspuri.

We are considering only two schools right now - K.R.Mangalam (Vikaspuri) & VV-DAV (we are getting alumini points in VV-DAV-Vikaspuri). Recommendations for Adarsh, Saint Cecilia & Brain International are not coming.

VV-DAV is offering "CBSE-i" Curriculum from first-standard onwards (1st to 12th). As per the feedback from parents & school teachers, the teacher-student ratio is less (not more then 30 are allowed). Latest techniques & technologies are being used for teaching. Studies are activity-based & experiential (books are avoided). Classrooms are AC (air conditioned). Fees, though higher in comparison with general CBSE classes, are still lesser in comparison to K.R.Mangalam. English is the compulsary language.

Can these be reasons for selection of DAV over K.R.Mangalam (or other schools, viz. Saint Cecilia, Adarsh, Brain International)?

We have met few senior teachers from VV-DAV. The main strength they speak about VV-DAV school is teachers/ faculty. The main weakness they point out is gentry. But gentry part can taken care by opting CBSE-i curriculum, as the CBSE-i wing is separate from CSBE-wing & higher fees structure is acting as filter for gentry in CBSE-i wing. Another problem they are mentioning regarding VV-DAV is it's proximity to drain, due to which foul smell comes in rainy season. But no solution is available for this problem.

Please guide for selection amongst K.R.Mangalam (Vikaspuri) & VV-DAV.

VVDAV > KRM (Academics ) rest KRM is new and has to prove itself but sought after.

How much critical is distance factor for nursery kids? How much distance is practically tolerable?

Indraprastha & Saplings/ Bhatnagar are two good options for resident of Vikaspuri, apart from the options of VVDAV & K.R.Mangalam. But if distance is a big concern then even K.R.Mangalam gets beyond reach, because it's kindergarden branch is in Paschim Vihar (4kms), and we are left with a single option of VVDAV (800mtrs away from F-Block, Vikaspuri, near Oxford School).

Please guide us on this distance factor.

Its the most important factor keeping 3 year old child in mind .But some parents prefer big schools and don't mind sending far away so its a personal choice.

Will it be correct to give more weightage to distance factor at the cost of holistic development of child? Because this has become the deciding factor for our choice between VVDAV-Vikaspuri (800mtrs) & K.R.Mangalam-Kindergarden-Paschim Vihar (4Kms; though my kids will shift to the higher branch of vikaspuri from 2nd standard onwards & this school is only 400mtrs far from my residence).

Please guide...
