There is no justification :-) Even i dont think it should be applicable

@Raman
I agree with you that distance slabs would make sense only when there is even distribution of good schools throughout city. But justification of keeping Alumni point just b'coz schools want to retain it is not clear...

@rvg - staggered distance slabs would make sense only if there was even distribution of good schools in Delhi. Today, there are areas where many good schools exist, and there are areas where no good schools are present within 0-3 km.

@Atul, Sibling makes sense as pointed by Gaurav. Sending two kids to seperate schools is a nightmare for parents.

Tfr points for nursery admissions does not make sense but is essential for higher classes / mid session.

Most schools want to retain alumni points.

Everyone will get a fair chance if this is implemented. If you remove all Tfr 75 pointers from all big schools lists, most parents would be happy and would have a fair chance in lottery.

only different points for different neighbourhood makes sense in delhi. e.g. 70 points for 0-3 km, 50 points for 3-5 km , 30 for 5-8 km . otherwise schools should be allowed 2 sessions (morning and evening batch). going by the current scenario, all the seats will be filled by siblings in another 10 yrears.

@Atul Sharma

Don't take it too seriously as this is second waiting list and chances of getting admission for any body from this list are negligible...

@ mahesh ji pls dont call ur srlf 70 pointer 'unlucky kid' dozens of parents including me have 70 pts .. but believe me none of the child is or will be unlucky ..
pls dont blame the poor child !!!

i feel instead there should be quota... like 40% for first timers and rest 60% divided among other categories.
70 pointers are not given fair chance AT ALL ....
