Very true Gautam and Rakesh.
Same I feel for the kids who are genuinely bright. This is too motivating for all of us that kids at this small age can do so much but shame on these big school management who fails to understand.
BTW, we need to accept the fact that schooling for them is no less than a business where they are running to earn profit.
When I met SFS principal, I showed him all the trophies for him to know that bright kids are still struggling to get into good institutions....Principal him self appreciated such achievements which are visible in the form of trophies but we didn't take with us any letter from a politician which would have supported our case....
Just to share few proud moments my kid had brought in while she was just 3(she is still less than 4 now) and joined one play school in July'14 and with in a span of 9 months of her grooming at the school she got 1st prize trophy in recitation competition in which each child was asked to recite 3 English and 3 Hindi poem, a total of 6 poems, basis which she got this 1st prize. She also got 1st prize trophy in drawing competition, 2nd prize trophy in sports which was conducted by this play school and was organized at one of the school in Dwarka, 2nd prize trophy in fancy dress and recently she got another trophy in dance competition......today's kids are not just limited to academics but over all grooming they themselves demand...But as you correctly said Rakesh, our system does not value these merits.
Well Said Rakesh....all the best for your little genius....hats off to you and your family who had put in efforts in taking the child at this level.
My child just turned 3 and he knows writing English alphabet, words and sentences (capital, small and cursive) and reading English, Spanish and Hindi alphabet letters as well. He also knows reading English story books (so far he read more than 30 English classic story books, singing and reading rhymes (more than 30), more than 4-5 thousands English words, 4-5 words for each alphabet letter with their spelling. He can identify shapes and colors, do drawing/coloring and knows month of the year, days of the week, counting numbers (reading and writing both) and more what we can't expect from 3 years old young kid. He can sing our national anthem and national song and many other English songs. He has also good soccer skills.
When he was only less than 2 years old, he started communicating in English like big guys (but he can't speak hindi) - it did't happen just (it was our hard work on him and his interest). He is good in using computer and tablet, typing and more. He knows more than what class 1 students know. He got English story telling competition award. Any schools would be proud of if they take him in their schools. But unfortunately he didn't get admission in any schools through normal admission process - this is our education system. When I met a principal of a school and they took his written and oral test. He got through for Prep directly. But still I'm exploring right school for him.
I never sent my kid to any play-school.
Even I get a seat in SFS I will never send my child to SFS, I saw and met many kids of SFS because I don't want to send my child that school which is only good in academics and discipline. Teachers quality, syllabus, teaching approach, extra-curricular activities and students should have options to choose what they want to do.
7k for dress and books is too much...
Gautam, to be honest Yes it is costly.
Including transport and fee, its coming around 12k pm where uniform n books are separate which took close to 7k.
Priya : Sachdeva among new list of schools is doing well, I heard it is costly though...how much is the fee?
