I have few Questions in my mind regarding the creteria for being selected.. request you all to answer plz

1) Does the school prefer to have only one working parent.. i mean only father working and Mother's non working?

2) If both the parents are Working and kid is going to Day care, so should we disclose this to the school, and do they consider as minus points for the kid going to day care.

Request to please answers these questions..

don't mention day care instead of day care say your inlaws are there to take care of kid. Also few points which they prefer about the distance between office and school.

Rest most of the points are of your kid.

How would you rate the same against Amity/DPS/Shiv Nadar.

My daughter is selected for Somerville.

Sagar, I think DPS is the best - it has the right blend of everything. Amity n Somerville are pretty much equivalent on academic front but Amity has a gud infra. Shiv Nadar is completely different, its a new age school and perhaps has diff teaching techniques. I have gained this info from reading diff blogs so maybe i am wrong.

Academics should be more or less the same. I have heard stories about lot of pressure on kids in Amity. I know someone whose 2 kids go to Amity but they said the pressure is everywhere. Not very sure of extra curricular activity - but I think Amity wud def be better on this parameter than Somerville.

But then, at the end I feel most parents are happy with the school their child is going to :)

But I have heard from many parents that in Amity due to higher number of students, kids don't get the chance to showcase their talent.Only few kids with strong backing/ kids of teacher are given chance. I know it is happening in all school. I think I will stick with Somerville and will wait for DPS :)

My daughter goes to somerville. Though it is mainly focussed on acedemics but I do not feel the pressure as such. If your child does the revision of what teacher has taught in school, it is more than enough. Also, they give special attention to the children who need it and not just focus/give opportunities to those who do well. My daughter's class teacher made her sit with a girl who had some difficulty bcoz of spects and needed some help. She gives attention to that girl and also asks my gaughter to help whenever needed.

Extra curricular activities wise I think DPS is better or khaitan for that matter. They have a very good sports acedemy and I took my daughter there to learn skating for few months.

Somerville has all basic activities like.. singing.. dancing.. drama..sports.. quizzes.. recitations and all

My daughter was quite confident , she answered almost all question , except identifying few vegetables .
