Hi, I am new to this forum. I want my toddler daughter to be a part of DPS Noida. Though there is still a lot of time as per her age but I have already started getting jitters about the admission process. Kindly let me know the exact admission criteria. We are residing in Noida but aren't DPS alumni. Neither are we government servants nor  defense personnel. She is my only daughter as such has no sibling. Do we still hold a chance to get short listed??? Please let us know what we can do to  at least short list my child in the future.. Thanks in advance..

Hi Anita, a friend of mine withdrew her son from Somerville for DPSN  He was with Somerville for 3 years. Now he is with my daughter in class 3 in DPSN. Somerville as she said and I have perceived is more into academics. I tutor a student of Somerville.

@Gautam, Mother with a Master's degree is definitely a criteria in the initial shortlisting and it also gives you bonus points in the later rounds.

But yes, nothing can match a active, happy looking kid and confident parents. That sure is a success mantra.

I think nothing can match a good luck in admission process and it always take a bit of luck for getting shortlisted for first interaction, later it can be a happy child & confident parents. Both me and my wife are PG (she being MBA & me MCA) and we live in same sector as DPS Noida i.e. sector-30 but even then we were not shortlisted for interaction. Somewhere I have read school while shortlisting also try making a balance between the professions of parents i.e. they keep a check that all type of professions get covered.

@Jitin, Tripti, Amit & Himanshu- We had our interaction today and wen i asked them abt the result procedure they said by the tomm you will be intimated by mail if ur child is selected. 

So i think that means we are not selected or else we would have got the mail till now as our interview was on 22nd  any idea if there is any second list also ?? 

No idea Jitin even i asked them same as i was reading your comments for past 2-3 days but she was too busy to reply nything.

@Sonia, for class 2 make your son learn multiplication tables. He should be very good with mental maths, they emphasize on that. Should be able to write essay (English) of 5 to 6 lines maximum on any topic. Hindi again grammar should be good--they test writing skills of a child. Which school is your son going to? They are more into interactive education and a child is not forced to learn questions and answers, however concepts should be clear.  Ask him questions as one box of pencil cost 10, 2 boxes will cost? Basic calculation problems of addition and subtraction.

BIJ JI AND SUMIT JI DO U HAVE ANY IDEA WHY DPSN IS NOT SELECTING ALUMNI'S , OR THEY WILL SHORTLIST THE NAMES AFTER COMPLETING GENERAL CASES....ANY IDEA?

Bij ji as DPS gurgaon displayed their detailed list with waiting list...Should DPS Noida will follow the same around 7th oct?

amity noida is still updating the result in website ,our interaction date was 11th sep bt our status was not selected till today but now its showing cleared..so all parented are suggested to chehk there status using login id and password.u still have chances to get the positive result....

Suggestions among  Lotus valley / Amity noida /dps noida

We need to decide between LVIS & Amity noida  .We are waiting for the result of dps noida and we had already submitted the fees of lotus valley and we have to submit the fees of amity noida before 1st oct....

Kindly give ur valuable suggestions on all the above options.

amity is very good school, 80 percent of children from my sector study there. they are very confident, quickthinkers last but not least their communication skills are wow.

Today completed all the formalities of my ward at DPSN. I would like to thank Sakshi ji, Bij ji and Sumity ji and all the parents who shared their experiences in this forum which was definitely a great help.

Feeling very depressed & low every thing went well during our interview my kid answered every thing in the DPS interview me & my wife are BE & MBA both i am a alumina of DPS we stay at 2 km from DPS  what else is the criteria for getting selected   

dont worry jitin have patience....i am also waiting for dps ....i am sure dps will soon send the mail to allumini's also....all the best...

himanshu one of my frn with sibling case and also from patparganj area got the confirmation mail from dpsn on the same day of interaction...i.e 24sept...so i think,we r not selected....

Bij ji- My child's original birth certificate is submitted in Mayoor and today i went there for withdrawal they said it will take a week time. Tomm i have to go dpsn to complete admission formalities and BC certificate is mandatory there. pls suggest what to do?

Finally I have got 3 options for my kid, VBPS, Cambridge & Billabong. Based on your experience can you please provide your views on which school I should be picking.

I have got very positive feedback from one of my friend on Billabong, as per him school provides good personal attention to each kid.

Shweta we are also in the same boat....we had paid the fees of lotus valley which is almost non refundable and now we are thru with amity and dpsn.....and have to pay the fees of both on 1st....dont know what to do,how to decide...........its too difficult to decide...

@Amit- Lotus valley deduct 24k amt out of the total fees if you will withdraw the admission before 31st Jan,2013
