  • Meenakshi Bharatiya

my daughter is 2n half.....can anybody tell me about nursery admission..........what procedure they follow.......and what all they need as residence proof........since rightnow we resides in Dilshad Garden(east delhi) but will shift to noida sec 78 next year.

  • Sakshi (Moderator)

Meenakshi,Noida does not have fixed age criteria like delhi.some schools like amity/apj take 3 years on 31 mar of academic year and many take 3.5 yrs.

You need to have permanent address where you are staying for established schools in noida, Screening is done written or verbal in most of noida schools.

    Hi All,

I already admitted my daughter in Ahlcon International School Mayur Vihar. I am thinking for her admission in DPS Noida. So i want suggestion should i apply for admission in DPS noida or Ahlcon International is the right choice.

Moderators please suggest which school is better among DPS Noida and Ahlcon International Mayur Vihar.

    Thanks,

    Anil

Would you guys please let me know the date around which the forms start rolling out for the admission and please the age criteria too. My daughter is Sep 1, 2010 born.

    Thanks in Advance!!!!

  • Sakshi (Moderator)

    @Preeti

Last year DPS Noida, forms were be available from 3rd Sep to 9th Sep. Age criteria 3 years 6 months on 31mar 2014.

  • Preeti Pandey

    Thanks Shakshi

Please clear a doubt of mine...

My daughter is Sept 1 born, so it means she will be exactly 3 years 7 months as on 31 March 2014. She comes under the eligibility criteria then???

    Feeling hopefull !!!

  • Sakshi (Moderator)

My daughter is 24th Nov 2009 born. I already admitted her in Father Agnel. Wanted to try for DPS this year..will she come under eligibility this year..last year she was under age and was not eligible.

  • Preeti Pandey

Hi Rupa !! I would like to ask that are you not satisfied with Father Agnel..?? Well actually this is one among the list I have in my mind for my daughter. I have heard it is good..hence was considering it too.

If you are comfortable, I would like to have your reviews please!!

    Thanks in advance dear :)

  • Himani Sadana

Rupa  , i want to check one thing does this mean DPS Noida is better than Father Agnel because i heard Missionary schools are anytime better. Pls Suggest even I will try for my daughter for these schools

  • Rupa Bhattacharya

    Hi Preeti n Himani

Last year my daughter was shortlisted for Amity too...but I chose FAS because of distance (as we are in 62) and less fees.....Amity is quite far….and moreover FAS is a convent school n follows catholic culture thus more disciplined....also daycare facility is available at FAS....Also we got a very good feedback from other parents whose kids are studying in FAS..

    But now I feel

    1. Teacher students ratio is very high approx 1:36.. and i guess kids don't get personal attention ...
    2.  my daughter is youngest amongst her peers ...so sometimes its difficult for to adjust...
    3. I am not quite impressed with the teaching methods they follow …
    4. Also found management flaws in some instances… to cite a few like… they don’t send reminders for fees, didn’t send notice about school being closed ….

And we heard that DPS Noida is the best school in Noida…            Shweta ...Thnks for the info...

  • Preeti Pandey

Thanks a lot Rupa for sharing this info!!

Parents know what is the best for their child. So go ahead. My good wishes with you :)

  • Rupa Bhattacharya

Preeti: thnks a lot..best wishes for u as well...

  • Himani Sadana

    Thanx Rupa forthe suggstions

  • Payal Gupta

Hi Rupa, My son is in DPS, Noida. And let me tell you that all schools are the same. There is lot of pressure on the nursery kids. Even here the teacher student ratio is 1:40 (though there are 2 teachers in every class which makes it 1:20) But still they are not able to manage kids, as they keep on complaining about kids in every PTA. In this session I think there is lot of pressure on Nursery teachers (in all the schools) because of which they are not giving personal attention to kids. So be happy with what you have. :-)

  • Himani Sadana

Payal , kindly share Interview experience of DPS Noida. What kind of questions they ask. Do they have any particular criteria for shortlisting.

  • SHEETAL RAWAL

what is the age criteria for admission in this school?

does school take students from delhi???

I live in geeta colony ....is transport available ?

  • Sakshi (Moderator)

@Sheetal,Its 3yrs 6months on 31mar 2014. They have some distance criteria but i think you should crosschk with school for Geeta Colony.

  • Payal Gupta

Hi Himani, They don't take interviews of parents. It is the general interraction & they ask you to introduce yourself. After you are done with the online submission of forms, they will contact you by email (in case your ward gets shortlisted). in this round, they take the kids to a room where there are lots of puzzles, colouring, etc. It takes around 35 to 45 mins. Once your ward comes out, then there will be a general interraction (group of 8 to 10 parents) with the principal. Here your ward will be with you. They see how you handle your ward while speaking to the principal as you know kids at this stage become restless when parents are talking to someone else. :-)

  • Rupa Bhattacharya

    Hi Payal...

Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences....its really tough for the small kids to cope up with so much of pressure at this tender age...

Hi Neetu : I have heard a lot about FAS...but I cnt say much about the Academics (as of now i m not very much impressed with the teaching methods they follow in Nursery)..

  • Payal Gupta

    Hi Rupa,

In DPS, kids are not in pressure but the parents are :-) as they keep on complaining about kids, like he is not listening in class, he is very slow in writing, etc. But at home he is perfectly ok, and I feel these kids in Nursery are too small to be diciplined and it's the first time that they are holding the pencil so I do not expect much from them. As far as there teaching is concerned, I am satisfied as of now b'coz I don't have to teach him at home and he tells me everything that is being taught in school. So I am satisfied with the teaching.

  • Rupa Bhattacharya

Hi Payal...I completely agree with u that these kids are really very small to be disciplined...

Does your son get homework every day?

  • SHEETAL RAWAL

    hello sakshi..

my daughter will be 3.3years as on 31 march 2014....can I fill forms for nursery in dps Noida...

  • Sakshi (Moderator)

  • Sakshi (Moderator)

  • SHEETAL RAWAL

    hello sakshi...

is the criteria of 3.6 years applicable in dps vasundra or Ghaziabad branch also....
