All the parents of Noida area who are interested in getting their ward admitted in DPS Noida can join this group and interact among each other and can also interact with previous year parents who admitted their wards in Dps Noida
@ Rahul - wl send the details in a while...orientation will happen in first week of april..mine happened on 7 April and classes started on 10 April..it is the same every year...
By chance while completing the formalities during fee submission I saw few sheets which were the result of our kids interaction day performance and I was quite impressed with the way they had categorized and rated (excellent, good, average and area of concern) his performance for skills like
1. physical development
2. motor skills
3. social skills
4. Parent-Child relationship
at the end there were remarks by the counsellor( teacher in charge I believe)
There was another sheet which had his marks out of 5 on teachers observation for below,
1.confidence
2. Fine Motor
3. Communication skills
4. Perception
5. Coloring ( My kid scored least here :) )
6. Development of Gross motor skills
7. Speech (clear/not clear)
At the end of the sheet were his marks, percentage and overall grade.
He got 80% and grade was A
Also to note is that his coloring sheet was attached too.
Might be useful for Parents who are trying for admission so thought of sharing.
I called DPS and they confirmed that admission process is over and now they won't consider further admissions..They told they will start sending rejection message from tomorrow
Yes, mine is also showing under process so I tried to end this never ending confusion by calling them and by luck I got to talk to them and they confirmed that from tomorrow they will change the status of under process to rejected..they told admission process is over for them
Why don't they simply remove the link for status checking from their website...what is the meaning of changing status to rejected...its far from my understanding
@Anjali - If the interaction process is over aa you aay school has conveyed then those students whose status is - under process, wl not b called further..
@ Ashima- Be hopeful..those students who had interaction and are waiting for result...most probably they wl come out with more lists of selected candidates...last year DPS took out 7 or 8 lists...so be hopeful..
@ Anjali- basically there are appx 300 seats..so when we fill forms..then students are selected thru lottery..i think almost double or may b a little more are called for interaction...out of them 300(appox) are selected for admission..
@Sajja, What all extra curricular activities happen in DPS for Nursery and KG kids ? Do they have swimming pool ? Do they focus on overall development or just studies ?
Finally, DPS has changed status from "Under Process" to "We regret to inform, your child has not been shortlisted." now. I think they have closed the admissions now :(
Dear parents, please don't lose your heart. Its just the school. Your kids future is not just in their hands! Always have an alternative and think how we can get best out of it. Take charge in your hands because school is just a medium. My kids status too is pending still.
Thanks Rinkubiswas for very meaningful advice. Sanity must prevail. Most of us are going to get our kids admitted to one of the best schools in the city. The only substantial difference between these schools is that of brand perception,DPS being a front runner in this race no doubt. Congratulations to the parents who have been able to get this head-start and I wish that you make most out of it. For others, there is no need to get discouraged as irrespective of this result, your kid is going to go in another very good school and have a great future as he/she has parents who are so much concerned about his/her future even at such early age :)
Agree, it disheartening for many as many kids were not given chance for interaction, but then there is no transparency in admission specially in NCR. I have seen in this forum only that some parents who themselves weren't sure to get through were selected while some who were quite confident by their and child's performance, didn't got chance. So you don't know on what basis they select.
Also, if a kid has to bloom, no one can stop him/her from doing so. All school are more or less same, it's just brand name that we are after. There are many cases where kids from very small town and govt schools have made to top notch institutes both in India and abroad. After all, all school teaches more or less same values, curriculum etc.
Well... This concept of interaction in itself is flawed. What would a school judge through interaction of such a small child? Each child has his/her own growth curve especially until age of 5. Moreover given the age criteria in play, younger kids will always be at disadvantage. Think about it, it is so very probable that they are comparing a 2.4 yrs old with a 3.3 yrs old child in some cases. Having said that, when a school gets 2300 applications for 300 seats, we are giving them the license to do what they like. The root cause is our own desire of getting only the rank 1 school and a flawed belief that nothing else will work the same.
Dear DPS parents.. Need your help... Please advise quarterly fees of nursery + conveyance charges. Also, do we need to pay arounf 1 lac every year with each successive class or it is less than this... if someone can guide plsss.
we submitted fee on 18th. they have taken a DD of Rs. 1 Lakh. It was told to us that now DPS will contact us in the month of April for orientation and will then give fee breakup. further, they will also inform transport charges in April.
Any idea, which components from this fees structure of DPS-Noida are One Time, which are Annual? Is the below categorization correct, any parent whose child is going in DPS-N can confirm?
One Time: Admission Fees, Caution Money = Rs. 35000

No School can decide the destiny of child.yes few schools have good trained staff.
experience and infra backing them.....but if a child has to shine in life he/she can shine from most/all of the schools.....
