All the parents of Gurgaon area who are interested in getting their ward admitted in Shriram Gurgaon can join this group /interact among each other and can also interact with previous year parents who admitted their wards in Shriram Aravali
Pravesh Vatika Admission Information and Online Registration forms for The Shri Ram School, Aravali, Gurgaon can be accessed from 20th January, 2012, 09 am onwards
last year the scoring criteria was very different. This time they have allotted 35 points for the siblings of sri ram students and kids of their employees. Any idea how that going to effect the rankings.
Thanks Uma for for your continuous support to parents regarding shriram aravali gugaon school from last two year . please help new parents as admissions starts from 6 oct.
Priyanka last year it was Registration forms for children born between 1st October, 2007 and 30th September, 2008, can be filled in ONLINE ONLY for academic session 2012-2013.
so if it remains the same it should be children born between 1st October, 2008 and 30th September, 2009 for 2013-14 session
Yeah it has to be words. It would be better to write in a text editor like Microsoft Word where it shows the word count and then copy-paste the text into the box.
Hi Sakshi, just wanted to understand how the shortlisting workds .. .will the list on the 3rd be the first list of shortlists - or the final admission calls?
Ashima - when you say they will first sort out forms, it means sorting out ALL forms based on point system..... Now I cannot imagine that the forms received by TSRS is less than number of seats (unless there is cut off threshold) ... Always forms will be more than number of seats - Are we saying in most likely scenario, it is going to be draw of lots only.
Dear All, Only wards having equal point will have draw of lots
example- if we have 6O parents with tie on 55 points for 40 seats then only those parents will have draw of lots . Rest all having more then 55 points will be selected by default .
Only alumni/staff/sibling could have got a score more than 65 (There are 77 such students in the list)
Single parents not falling under above could have scored a maximum of 65 if they get full score in the parents response (There are 2 students in the list)
Other parents not falling under above could have scored a maximum of 60 if they get full score in the parents response(There are 28 students in the list)
That leaves only 28 seats for parents who could not get full score in the parents response, which I believe is quite a subjective thing and given the 25 marks alloted for it leaves a lot of room for manoeovring. In my personal view, this opaqueness is not at all a good thing from a school which is considered to be the best in India.
Further to the comment below, if some one can clarify as to where are the 27 management seats clubbed. Is it out of first 77 (staff/alumni/sibling category) or the last 28. If it is the second one, then I think the scoring system is quite hopeless.
Highest points one could get without sibling/staff/almuni category was 65 (Distance 20, Single/Special 5, First born 15, Response 25)
In the list of 135 there are 77 people having more than 65 points.
If we remove "Single Parent / Adopted Child / Special Needs" category since the occurances might not be common so the maximum one could get without sibling/staff/almuni category was 60 points.
In the list of 135 there are 107 people having more than or equal to 60 points.
I cann't say what exactly we can conclude from the above data but it seems that the probability for the people like me (35 points assured) even with perfect 25 for response was quite low so guys chill, it was more than the response into play :)
There are 6 seats having points less than or equal to 50 which I can say with some certainity belong to Management or EWS category.
All in all as Nitin said the procedure is no good that any other school. Things were quite clear and admirable till the submission of form but with the result list Shriram stands next to any abc school in terms of admission procedure. If they have gone so far to make things easy and understandable for parents I hope in future they take care of this last mile too.
My Child didn't get through the admission in Sriram Aravali. I only want to see how many points he scored. Will someone please tell me how to track the points scored by those who are not selected in the admission list.
@Ratna :Even we did not get through ShriRam but now looking forward to other schools (Suncity,Heritage and ShivNadar) where my daughter is through.Regarding your query on 90 points , I think a single parent applying for second child and meeting all other criteria with full points in essay can score a 90(rare possibility though ;) ).
Thanks for writing back! I can't manage goin to d school for checking the points I earned hence was looking for some solution online only. Will they not be posting the points of un-selected candidates on the school website. Any feedback would be a great help:-)
My child is like one of yours to be not shortlisted in the shriram's first (or whatever number, if any) list. We had 35 marks without the essay, that makes a good 10 marks short of least fulfilled and shortlisted (45) which we all are very aware. 35 because he is our first born. So far, we arent separated (we didnt pushed ourselves far beyond i think); child is borne out of our own labor, and a neatly healthy child; hence missed on 5 marks too. But what is funny about my life is my Husbands' arrogant claim about his RC /essay abilities and always perfect score throughout his life is diminished to not even 10/25. :))
I m smiling since Saturday and he has no clue yet because of his busy busy 24 hour schedule these days. I m waiting, with a big smile, for the day when he gets to know and what lies after that.
:)))))) :)))))) :))) in good humor and in hope that tomorrow my child doesnt earn 100/100 in all subjects will make him smile too.
Well...if they aren't willing to put up a list of unselected candidates with their scored marks..I guess the whole process is too opaque! One can even use RTI against tht!
Loved ur comment Meenakshee!!! Gud humour with a satirical tone:))))
Dont get me wrong all of you - But I did have a good time reading all of your interesting and humorous comments. Even my daughter didnt get through Shriram. Guess we were not dysfunctional enough :) - Just kidding. Congratulations to those whose kids who got through and even to those who didnt just for the sheer effort and sincerity put in for our children's future.
My child is currently enrolled into TSEYS (The Shri Ram Early years). Like all parents who are manic to send their child to TSRS I was one too. I did not mind the good distance of this play school from my residence, (I lived in sector 31 first, now Sushant Lok 3) for I a die hard optimist thought that my bright child (that is what the teachers told me ) should overcome all the obstacles and get through. The results proved otherwise. I don't understand how suddenly my bright child lost sheen, and they say they prefer children from this school! Don't want to sound pompous...but the children who got through from the same class as my daughter's don't even know how to speak properly!!! I am not disappointed as I have secured admission in a better school, but want to share this with all parents that, there is no guarantee to get a seat in TSRS even if you put your child to their play school. Not to forget, if your child is bright, with a gr8 IQ level don't waste your time & money with TSRS!
Hi Puja! Agree with u for sure! For a parent like me who doesn't belong to gurgaon, things were more baffling as the flashy infra of various schools with all the elaborate paraphernalia left we too confused as to where to secure admission for my lil baby...But the fact is tht we have to go for any of these available schools only!!! By the way which school u finally opted for?

Jitendir , I think quarterly fees was 30k (approx) and initially they paid 82k (inclusive of one quarter fees) in 2011.

Rapti if we add 82k + 90 K ( for rest 3 quarters ) = 1.72 ( approx) so its the same more or less
