All the parents of West Delhi who are interested in getting their ward admitted in West Delhi schools can join this group and interact among each other and can also interact with previous year parents who admitted their wards in West Delhi Schools.
While majority of 70 pointers got two chances 9.09% + 1.09% = 10.18%
Now imagine scenario 2, by reversing the the tfr and 70 pointers numbers
Open seats after Siblings + Alumni
100
Applicants
1000
Tfr cases
90
Original 70 Pointers
10
Chances in First draw
10 / (1000-90)
1.10%
Chances in Second draw
90 / (1000-10+90)
8.33%
Now Tfr pointers got 8.33% chance of a seat.
Majority of 70 pointers got two chances 1.10% + 8.33 % = 9.43%.
The difference is small (just 1.10%) but this can not be ignored considering the situation, every single % point counts.
Genuine Tfr pointers did nothing wrong. Govt gave them the points, and then they were scrapped. Why penalize genuine Tfr pointers for Govt's mistakes.
I think this is where the honorable HC saw merit in this plea. So, this may be hard on 70 pointers selected in first/second draw. Remember, Tfr 75 pointers also lost their confirmed seats.
As said by the court, inconvenience can not be the reason for injustice.
For all parents who are looking for admissions for their kids in school/ colleges.
Donations Ke Side Effects......
This is what our Indian Education system is becoming...
It's tough being a student in India today, with it becoming next to impossible getting a seat in a good college despite getting top grades. It's even tougher being the parent of the kid with good grades and no seats.
1: DoE/LG has created all this mess, court is soft on these babus. Why..?
2: This whole situation has rise due to FAKE TRF cases. What about them..? Why should one be soft on those who has no fear & respect for Law..?
3: There is no agency/department to take onus on investing all fakes.., beat transfer or EWS. We all will acknowledge the presence of fake EWS as well.
This year nursery admission has become a good example of complete Governance failure… And no one is penalizing the law breakers, as usual only law abiding citizens faces the music… So lets face it a bit more, with patience… :)
DoE did constitute a team of officers who were to visit schools and do a random audit of Tfr cases to ensure only genuine cases were being honored by the schools. Strict guidelines were also issued to schools for due dilligence.
Had we given them a chance, this would have contained a lot of the damage done by fakes. It was already apparent in DPS and other top schools, where at times almost 40-50% of total cases were denied the points claimed in their applications.
Parents were still unhappy and went the PIL way. So once the Tfr points are scrapped and 75 pointers lose their confirmed seats, they ought to be given an equal chance on open seats with 70 pointers. so, fresh draw was required, not sure why doE suggested otherwise.
And now, parents are still not getting into the reputed schools. so, they want scrapping Alumni and potentially sibling points also.
Scrapping all points will not change situation drastically...
As we all know the situation, seat availability is aprrox. 1% as compared to applicants applying, atleast for Top schools in delhi. Problem here is huge gap between demand and supply, which can not be changed overnight.
It's clearly governance failure added with poor planning, lack of supervision & disastrous implementation…!!
Plus extra burden of EWS to cater so called "VOTE BANK"
EWS is another disaster in making, why open category parents bear the expenses of EWS (including fake ones)?
yes, actually i am an alumni in one of those schools which are currently not affected ;) . i have dropped one, which didn't even hold a draw. the third one i have been assured by the headmistress herself though personal interaction( i have paid the fee there ) that my ward will be selected even if he doesn't make into the future draw. mind you, i am against donation.
As per the orders of the Education Department dated 27.02.2014 regarding transfer cases not to be considered under points criteria. 2nd Draw of Lots for classes Nursery & KG under General Category for the session 2014-2015 will be held on 11.03.2014 in the school premises.
Timings for Draw of Lots: Nursery – 1:00 p.m. K.G. – 2:00 p.m.

Anyone going to Indraprastha P.V for redraw today @11.30...Please put the list of selected candidates..so that it would be easy for all parents....!!!!
what is this some school is not doing redraw and some is doing my daughter selected but now i have not any school to admitted her because those school name confirme her they do redraw and she is not lucky now and other schools not do redraw what to do
@shivani it's a good school with a balanced approach towards academics and co curricular activities. fee is around higher side though as it's an airconditioned school.
This time also my daughter is not selected even in single school...but still hoping she will get admission in some good school...more schools draws are on the way...!!!!
@neha - please dont loose hope... there will be a good school for kids of each one of us... we'll reconvene after this ordeal is over to laugh it off....take it easy...
@ NG, I noted this myself . School did not share any such list during the draw.
Also, i think your ward is selected in IP PV but the same is showing as regretted in IP PV web site. Same for me. I wonder what is going on with this school.
Schools are not just putting pressure for admissions...
They have already declared closing dates for fees submissions, after which the admission stands cancelled (for those who got selected based on alumini or sibling points).
