I am waiting for courier :( wanted my daughter to get admitted.

i have submitted the form on 12th and i am staying in sector-23 , its walking distance from school. But i have not got the courier. Dont know what are the criteria noida's schools are following......

My state is the same as Damandeep as my son too is Jan 31 2010 born. My son is getting admission in  pre nursery in Mayoor but we are not sure whether to wait for next year or take admission in Mayoor. Experts kindly advise.

please suggest how is somerville school in academics and other activities and do teachers communicate with kids in english?

do they have sports  

My son is 2.9 Years and got selected in ApeeJay and Somerville International (sec 132). We had interaction in FAS yesterday (not much hopeful). We are planning to shift towards Noida Expressway next year some time.

Please suggest which will be good option ApeeJay and Somerville International (sec 132)? My first choice was Somerville Noida (but not eligible this year). Should I trust on Somerville reputation and opt for Sec 132 branch (will start from this year)?

Please suggest? I am in great dilemma as Monday is last day for Fee submission at ApeeJay (both asking for approx. 77 K).

Hi Vibhor,Tamal and Gargi : Can you please suggest what makes somerville the best school in noida. My daughter has got selected to APJ and  we have our interaction in somerville on 26th.We are confused and think both are good academically.Appreciate if you guys can provide detail analysis.

Also, please advice about the interaction with parents and kid in somerville. Any specific point we need to keep in point?

With respect to academic Somerville is better than APJ. You can compare class 12 result (last 3 years Somerville result is consistent and best within Noida) where as for APJ it is not that consistent. You can visit both school website (achievement section).

Now if you compare ground and sports facility APJ is ahead. Note this does not mean Somerville do not have focus on over all development. But it is true that number of extra curricular activity at APJ is more within premises.

Thanks for the detailed comparision shishir. APJ sports ground is quite bigger and better than somerville. I have heard that for last few years somerville has specifically started taking interest in sports as it was lacking there. Is it true.

Also, I would like to know if somerville has other extra curricular activities like debates extempore literary activities which could build child's confidence and personality.

For Somerville I visited school and saw lot of Inter-school award won by students (since 2007 -12) in different areas. In my view on extra caricullar activity as parameter one need to check overl all personality development (require good english speaking teachers, focus on moral values, student participation in Debate, Quiz, extempore, play etc) and other is sports (cricket, football, tennis, swimming, horse riding etc).

Somerville has good focus on personality development (refer HT link) where as APJ has good sprots facility (this does not mean they are not focused on personality dev).

Note that an interesting fact for both schools are they are lagging in adopting latest education technologies (can easily understnd they way they do not put result online) . HT has specified strength of each school. Now up to us what is our priority and fee we can afford :-)

Thanks Shishir. Very true, overall personality development is one aspect and sports is other aspect. I knew that in sports somerville is lacking but was not sure about other personality development activities as their main focus was on academics and discipline.

I have received the letter for an interaction tomorrow 25th. What is process ? verification of documents will be done tomorrow ?
