All the parents of Noida area who are interested in getting their ward admitted in DPS Noida can join this group and interact among each other and can also interact with previous year parents who admitted their wards in Dps Noida
Hi pramod,
I wonder why ward is required to accompany parents on the day of admission. Also, can you suggest if presence any one from the father or mother would be okay with the school or both of them need to be there.
Thnx
@Sumit .. Great to know you are selected in Amity and DPS both.
DPS has more "sports" facilities as compared to DPS.. Amity is in 15 acres.. and DPS is in 16 acres.. Amity was setup in 1994, and DPS started in 1982... Both of them almost at par with each other in terms of Academics and other stuff.. So its entirely your decision on what to select and you must consider distance as well.
Another point.. Amity does not have a swimming pool.. whereas.. DPS has a kids splash pool and a Swimming Pool for Junior and Sr Wings....
For some reason, Amity did not participated in Maths Olympiad this year for Sr. Wing.. not sure of the reason....
As much as I am aware of.. DPS has is more organized ... but I have heard Amity has more focus on english speaking.....
Had I being you.. it would have being certainly a tough decision for me too..
Hi Sumit, Ward is important as height & weight of the ward is noted in their medical records & they keep on monitoring this periodically. One of the parent is fine if he/she can handle the ward along with the completion of formalities.
Thanks Kush. Your notes would help
Thanks payal for the information and also for your suggestion.
Any info and comparisons on the following 3 counts:-
1) Discipline
2) student mix. More parents of our kind. Typically, educated - in service - traditional with modern outlook- middle class.
3) AMITY giving great results year after year. This year, almost 15 to IITs. Little idea on DPS on this. Also, heard that students are chased by teachers in AMITY for copies, complete work, notes to parents etc.
Also, have i heard right that AMITY refunds almost 90% of money though they take almost a year.I feel its not of much importance as it is a 14 year call. Vaise b i think, DPS has future expenses on the lower side.
And, sorry for missing on it earlier ~ our interaction was on 27th. Few, parents have asked for this.
Thanks and regards
Hello Sakshi and fellow parents,my son got selected in Somerville ,need to deposit fees by 1st Oct,awaiting results for DPSN.Should we wait for DPSN or go with Somerville.Plz help...
@Sumit : Don't think about fee think about child's future, DPSN is better then AMITY in many aspect and as you can also see Kush Kapoor's comments. Everyone is waiting for DPSN call and you got selected (great).
Discipline - I would say is more or less equal in the two schools.. Dont compare it from your time and Kids/Students are more "fast" and advance than we were... And a lot depends on how they are "take care off" at home and what kind of friends/environment they are in.
Below i am not trying to compare people on their wealth and I apologize if I am trying to say something which I should'nt have
Coming to class of people.. both Amity and DPS have the richest of the richest people... as well as ... people like us. Pass by DPS and Amity during a Saturday when they have a PTM meeting or any weekday around 2 PM and you will get a hint of it... Offcourse the "rich" goes to Pathways/Genesis and LVIS too... But on a serious note... Pathways/LVIS have a lot of "High Designated" IT people kids.... and its not always business class...
DPS and Amity so had a lot of mix of people.. and yes.. they produce among the best students in Noida.. and even APJ is not far behind in the list. Getting high marks in 10th and 12th Class is not how you should judge a school primarily.. What is more important is how they develop overall... I know people who got compartment and back in School and Eng. College are now at positions which for me was hard to believe.... Doctors and Engineers are not the only Jobs these days...
I am pretty sure that if you are saying 15 students cleared IIT this year from Amity.... DPS would also have a comparable number.. if not IIT, some other A and B grade Medical and Engineering colleges of India..
These are just my personal comments and should not be taken too seriously please.... My Son would be going to Amity.... and before I started researching myself on DPS.. i never liked the school because it was next to my house and I had seen the Sr. Student Crowd there (what we define as discipline).. But then... I was made aware that same would be the case with every school... DPS was next to me.. so I can see it...
Sumit, for you, I can think you can go with anyone without any fear... DPS or AMity.. but if you want more facilities specially in terms of Sports... go for DPS... they have a a lot of focus on Sports as well these days and have evening classes at very reasonable rates for the Students....
And yes, I know DPS participates in almost all Academics and Sports competitions help in Noida/Delhi and NCR region....
Please suggest what should I do so much confusion :
1) KPS[very positive feedback I got for school], 7 km away from house, school timings 8 to 12:30(bus will pick the child around 7:15 am) pm,last date to submit fee is 1st Oct.
2) VBPS also good school, 5km away from house, school timings 9 -12:30 , result is coming on 5th Oct...
Hi kush
Initiative like this site succeed only because people like you. Amzing is your clarity and unbelievable is your spirit to share. Heart felt thanks for this 'from the heart' review.... as if it was for your own child. Thank you so much.
You are right, lets not be afraid of unknown and see things as they come in future. These are changing times......and a lot will depend on how attached a child is with the family. And yes aim of education goes far beyond clearing IITs....
I am opting for DPS. Thanks again.

Hi VGupta
Thanks fot the suggestions.... i really appreciate.
I guess, though each child is unique and should not be compared, they are almost equal at this age. Getting selected in a school is more to do with chance factor. I feel, Schools makes clusters like people coming on a day, people from a particular background, income group, education back ground etc. Simply speaking, 10 kids( and parents) selected out of 100 need not be the best fit 10 out of the 100 but rather they are best in their respective cluster. And many a times, geeting in a particula cluster is a game of probabilty/ chance. So, let us all be happy with the schools our children are getting into....pray for their well being and try to provide them a conducive environment.
Hi, Interaction for my son took place on 25th September at 12 noon. So far no indication or email from the school. Please let us know if any other parents has got the result? When was the result expected?
Thanks a lot for the wishes. This would have not been possible without AN.com team and fellow parents support.
For me DPSN is very much transparent without much of hassle throughout their entire admission process. Following is flow of their process,
I had submitted form on 1st sept and got call on 17th sept evening for the interaction. The interaction was on 21 sept. About 30 families were called at our timing of interaction. First we paid the registration fee of Rs.750/- and then we were given a proforma to fill where we needed to enter general details along with two questions to be answered. By the time we start filling the form, teachers have started to take 6 to 8 children inside for interaction. After about five minutes parents were called inside and asked to sit near to their wards without prompting to the kid while teacher ask questions to the child. The questions were not direct like identify the shapes, colour, etc. but rather more on the application types checking memory and IQ. After the questions, children were asked to colour some objects. Then kid were asked to jump into the ring and also made to walk on a narrow wooden plank. This would take about half an hour and you also need to submit the proforma before proceeding further.
After that all the parents were asked to wait for next round i.e. interaction with principal. The waiting time was about 1 hour or so. Parents in group of 6-8 were sent to interact with principal. For our batch principal only asked us to introduce ourself and the interaction was over.
On 25th sept I received admission confirmation mail and were asked to complete the admission formalities on 27th sept. This way we completed the all rounds at DPSN. Further, they will be sending us mails regarding orientation (to be held in march-2014) and other details afterwards.
We have already paid the fee in Apeejay Noida and got the call from DPS as well, can anyone pls advise on which one to go for- DPS Noida or Apeejay Noida and why?
@shalini dont get confuse apeejay is a very good school as per d infrasructure, result, opportunity etc..they provide..and dpsn is good but as per my experience they take back door entries as well and obviously when a school do such kind of things then the quality of students get down.
We had an interaction today and the result is supposed to be announced on 3rd oct. There were 28 families. Children were tested for color recognition, Matching, Memory, poem recitation both hind/ english, knowledge abt personal details. Seemed a tough one for the little ones . Hope we get through it.
what happens if a child doesnt perform well in DPSN interaction? gets rejected for those 10 mins when the kid was judged? does parents interaction play any role?
