    @meenakshi, @sunil,

heard..Indraprastha is probably talking, approach with hand written application.

  • Meenakshi Sharma

Dear Jayantji,  I have a confirmed admission in Indraprastha.  I was wondering about the A-class schools that we all think of getting there.

  • jayant bichhal

@meenakshi, that is good to know. A-listers must be also doing it but probably only with an internal source. BTW, what are your views on sachdeva vs indraprastha ?

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Jayantji,  Are you selected for both schools.  I think definitely Indraprastha which is much older and more famous.

  • Rahul Verma

I think our general way of thinking is that we judge schools by the extent of difficulty in admission. Except DPS, I dont think there is anything even in Bal Bharti or Mount Carmel that is not there in several other schools in fact some are much better in facilities.

But this is human mentality, all including me, want to run after schools in which admission is most difficult and from the schools from which we get call...suddenly we start thinking about them ...ohh there must be some issues tht's why they are calling all.. :)

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Rahulji,  That's what I was thinking exactly as you mentioned.  When I got call from DIS, Maxfort, I had this feeling that we run after the things that we do not get easily.  Very true indeed.  This admission process is truly a learning process for me to know myself better!

  • Ashish agarwal

    You are right Rahul...

  • Sanjeev Kumar

    @Very well said Rahul

  • Supriyo Ghosh

Rahul yes we create the craze
  • Prince Sidana

    Very well said rahul.

For next year this is also a lesson for all parents that its the hype created by schools, we should have some patience in this whole process definitely each kid will get admission in school though might be not of your choice but who knows how school will perform in next 10 Years. We all can try our best rest is destiny.

disagree with rahul(beg your pardon)----we are not buying commodity today, we are planning future.....look from the investment perspective, even when you invest in stock you need to study whether your investment is going in the right direction or not....we can not be blind and put money...while future is uncertain and any school can grow leap and bound but would you then prefer to put your child in a govt school by thinking that 10 years down the line they may perform well(while they can perform well if govt functionaries act with honesty and sincerity) but past indicators are equally important to decide the future course.....when we say DPS we say because it has a history thus likewise bal bharti, sardar patel school etc comes with legacy which no one can undermine....through research is essential

  • Daljeet Singh

Ms. Lathaa has suggested Basava over Indian Heights.

Kindly share the reasons for this choice.

My concerns (same as other parents): Good teachers, Focus on Cu Curricular Activities & also on Sports. Also, School which offers more exposure to kids for Public Speaking.

  • Dr Nitesh Singh

    Human nature@ Rahul
  • Gautam Bagga

i am sure many of us in the group would have done PG......did we not try for IITs or IIMs.....why ? because they come with a story to tell to the world.....neither of us would have taken an admission in any college blindly without studying its history and not exclusively relying on facilities

  • Shailendra Kapoor

@Ashish: As admission process for all general seats are now closed. So they are now looking to fill mgmt seats. Many calls are coming to school through reference. Its better you contact school from tomorrow & go there with your child for admission.

  • Rajbir

Hello to all sincere parents...Today afternoon I received a call from inderparastha school on the behalf of my mail related to nursery admission on management seats and told me to come tomorrow at 9 a.m. Now my question is that if I have to purchase a seat then which school is best inderparastha, ITL, sachdevaor or basava and how much reasonable amount for that?
  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Daljeetji,  I also agree with Lathaaji views.  I visited Basava and found it impressive.

  • Rajbir

@meenakshi mam...please share fee structure of inderparastha
  • Rahul Verma

@Gautam...interesting perspective...but even if we look at this perspective...do you think the masters of the game of investment...invest in stocks that are already well established ? Rakesh Jhunjhunwala will invest in Reliance or will invest in a relatively lesser known stock in which he sees potential of becoming next Reliance ?

We dont know which schools will emerge at the top in 13 years, also from our schooling we know that top most schools also churn out below average students. I agree DPS so far is broadly in a different league, but school like Bal Bharti has some serious issues like 45-50 students stuffed in classes, good %age of Najafgarh crowd. Mount Carmel stands out academically but has issues in facilities and activities.

However, as I said, all, including me are not out of this race, so probably it needs deeper thought that are we actually running after some substance or just hype and brands ? Some times parents are ready to send nursery kids even 10-15 km because the school has a brand. Dont you think that is torture for the kid ?

Some might say that I am saying this because I did not manage to get admission in these schools but these are just true thoughts coming to my mind which I wanted to share. I would have also gone for the top schools without any doubt, if selected. In fact can give a reasonable amount also for them but overall , wanted to do some deeper analysis. :)

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Rajbirji,  The nursery fee is about Rs. 8,500 + 2500 transport charges.

  • Daljeet Singh

    @ meenakshi:

I agree that Basava has great infra structure. However while discussing the same with a freelance teacher who used to teach both indian heights as well as basava for primary standard has suggested to go for indian heights citing better teachers.

    hence, the quandry.

    Please suggest with reasons.

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Daljeetji, frankly speaking I have not even seen Indian Heights school.  I only visited Basava.  Academically Indian Heights may be good.  You can see overall class XII results for both schools.  Is Indian heights till 12 class.

  • Rajbir

@Meenakshi mam...8500 rs is total sum or only tution fees and also explain other charge like annual fees, meal etc
  • Deepak Mehta

@ Sahiba please find the fee structure in following image for max kids it is exactly same as maxfort.
Initial 36760 (includes first quarter fees) + transport if required

next quarter onwards 25710 + transport if required
    20160217_114752.jpg

  • Deepak Mehta

Rajbir if i remember correctly Quarterly expense will be 28-29 thousand excluding transport. If we include transport it will be 36-38 approx. It is a good school bit expensive though

  • jayant bichhal

@meenakshi, No, still evaluating available options. Sachdeva was offering seat on walkin until last week i hope they will have few remaining due to backouts this week as well and indraprastha asking for money (50k-1L). SO, thinking if its worth the investment because sachdeva so far has not asked for extra apart from just normal annual+tution?

Have you visited sachdeva and indraprastha both and met with teachers etc. and found indraprastha better?

All Parents- Is money investment worth in Indraprastha comparing to sachdeva?

  • Prince Sidana

@Jayant Bichhal: Is Sachdeva offering  seat to those who are not in waiting list also.

As i have given them call and they told me to confirm after 25th.

  • jayant bichhal

@prince, i think the key is the keenness that you can show; try visiting them in person but this was until last week. In my experience schools responses are different over phone and in person.

  • Deepak Mehta

Jayant I agree its keenness plus they are afraid of offering a seat specially a management seat over phone. So personal visit will be better

  • Anshul kumar

I have secured seat in DWARKA INTERNATIONAL. Thank you all for the support.

  • Rajbir

    @Lathaa mam @ Sandeep pal

I repeat my question again that if I have to purchase a seat then which school is best inderparastha, ITL, sachdevaor or basava and how much reasonable amount for that?

  • Gautam Bagga

Any idea whats the fee structure for Mount Carmel?

  • Deepak Mehta

Rajbir i would choose ITL it is very good school with less expenses as compared to Indraprastha & Sachdeva. Indraprastha is again a good school but expensive also. Sachdeva is not as good as ITL or Indraprastha & as expensive as indraprastha. Basava is good however if u can get ITL or indraprastha nothing like it. So my order of choice will be ITL--> Indraprastha --> Basava (fee structure is moderate) --> Sachdeva. Sachdeva & Basava i would say more or less same however sachdeva is expensive.

As far as money is concerned there is no limit depends on your pocket & also if you have some other good choice or not i would say don't pay more then 50k extra. If you have no choice than its upto you :)

  • Rajbir

Thanks deepak Ji...I received a call from inderparastha today on the behalf of my mail related to nursery admission on management seats. They asked me to come tomorrow regarding this.I have also mailed to ITL(not filling form before),sachdeva, basava, and DPS.So what you think I have to go inderparastha or wait for 2-3 days for others like ITL
  • Dr Nitesh Singh

@gautamji ,are you trying for nursery or kg admission?
  • Deepak Mehta

Rajbir Indraprastha is good school. I read on this forum they are asking for 50 thousand more & you can get admission.50 thousand is fine with me, however the quarterly expense including transport will be between 35-40 thousand which some people including me think are bit expensive.

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Jayantji,  I have been to Sachdeva only for depositing registration form.  But from the word of mouth from our learned forum members like Sandeepji, Lathaaji, my sister who lives in Dwarka for the last 8 years or so, I decided to go for it.

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Jayantji,  Just to clarify my last line, I decided to go for Indraprastha.

  • Meenakshi Sharma

I am fully in agreement with views of Deepakji to Rajbirji.  My options would have been same as Deepakji stated out.

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Deepakji,  One thing.  Indraprastha includes annual fee in monthly tuition fee.  So at start of year, they will not ask for separate annual fee.

  • sujat

Anyone getting admissions in dps or any inf on mngmnt seat pl let us know

  • Sandeep Pal

    @Dr. Nitesh. Congrass.

  • Sandeep Pal

    @Rajbir. Indraprastha>ITL>Basava>Suchdeva

  • Shailendra Kapoor

My daughter is selected in ITL. Just need to know if ITL sends children upto KG to Candyfloss or so will going to ITL???

  • Ashish agarwal

congrats Shailendra, is this management seat or you got admission through selected student list?

  • Ashish agarwal

Shailendra : please share the fee structure

  • meetali

@Shailendra: Yes they will send child to Candyfloss upto KG and then internally transfer to ITL from 1st standard. It is just a separate wing/building in same school premises.

  • Shailendra Kapoor

    Thanks Meetali.

@Ashish: My daughter's name was there in Waiting list. But at last moment school informed me that free seats are offered on first come first serve basis. I got admission on last remaining seat & just after that admission process was closed. Fee structure is given below...

    Admission Fee 200 (one time)

    Annual charges 10890

    Tuition fee 15300 (Quarterly)

    Development charges 2250 (Quarterly)

Mid Day meal 2000 (for 2 months)

    Orientation charges 5000 (one time)

  • Ashish agarwal

Thanks Shailendra, so hopefully they will start admission for management seat.

  • jayant bichhal
