@Prince I dont think so DIS sec 23 would refund as they have specified non-refundable on the receipt ...But lets hope for the best

  • UMANG AGRAWAL

Hi, Can anyone suggest,is it worth paying rs. 1.8lacs per annum for Nirmal Bhartia

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Umangji,  one another question before I reply to your question. Do you have any other choice besides NBS.

  • UMANG AGRAWAL

@ Meenakshi ji, I have already got admission done in Sachdeva Global

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Umangji,  I would suggest that you go for Sachdeva Global School which has visibly big infrastructure.  My son has been going at NBS  for last 3 years from Class III. Class III was still academically okay but after that nothing great about it either academically or extra curricular activities. Very small setup no school uniform or bookshop at school only once a week. Still it charges so much. I will change the school of my son when opportunity arises.

  • UMANG AGRAWAL

Do we have any parents here, whose kids are going to Sachdeva Global

  • Ashima Bhatia

    Hi Meenakshiji

I spoke to numerous parents whose children go to Nirmal Bhartia and most of them seemed really satisfied - especially with individual attention the child gets, the way of learning and also also the involvement of parents in the school.

But of course everyone can have different perspective.

  • Madhavi

I agree with Ashima...even I have got all positive response about NIBS...but i fully respect your perspective @Meenakshi

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Ashimaji, Madhavikji.  I agree every individual has different perception.  In fact, NBS has very good rating in newspapers.  But when you say individual attention, I totally disagree on that.  The notebooks and diaries are not checked for couple of days.  The only thing which is different is that for any event such as festival, gatherings, theme of the year, they invite parents's feedback, comments.  That is different and called community participation.

  • Ruchika

Please advise, Indraprastha or Nirmal Bhartia..

  • UMANG AGRAWAL

@ Lathaaji, Why are you rating Sachdeva better than NBS. Sakshiji has different opinion

I am confused, lot of people are suggesting for NBS.

I don't have problem in paying fees at NBS, but justed wanted to check if is it of such worth.

I want my child to be academically strong.

  • Gautam Bagga

friends please suggest, my daughter is currently in class nursery with sadhu vaswani interntational school for girls at satya niketan....she has been selected at mount carmel, anand niketan for KG.....would it be really worth to shift her from her current school to mount carmel? my only botheration is the high fee at mount carmel

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Gautamji,  my 2 colleagues children study in mount carmel, Anand Niketan.  It is considered to be one of best schools and in fact the best branch among all mount caramel branches in Delhi.  So you should not let go this chance.

  • Gautam Bagga

@ Meenakshi ji: Thanks for the feedback, more are welcome though from others as I have to submit the fee tomorrow. do you have any opinion for sadhu vaswani school as well?

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Gautamji,  I have not even heard the name of the other school.  Pls wait for others' views.  By the way, is there written test for KG in Mount Caramel.  One of my known ones in Dwarka was telling that for getting admission in KG, her daughter had to given written test.  Is that so.

  • Gautam Bagga

yes, an entrance exam took place for admission in KG class at both Dwarka and Anand Niketan branch......exam took place on 13th Feb and result came out very recently

@ Meenakshi: What happened to your known ones who tried for Dwarka branch? Shortlisted?

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Gautamji,  the person for whom I was talking her daughter is now in 6th class.   So is there still written exam and what is asked in that.  I am asking so that I can prepare my daughter for next year in KG.

  • Gautam Bagga

Yes you need to prepare for a written test for mount carmel for next year.....For entrance test a child is required to know the following:

    1. English oral & written A to Z capital & small in order & dodging.
    2. Number 1 to 50 in order and dodging.
    3. English Conversation/Comprehension.
  • Supriyo Ghosh

Gautam jiI wl also try for written Examination for my daughter next Year KG session in Mount Carmel...Can you suggest what was there in the Examination? How can a child of 4 year give written exams & on what subject the question came? Is there any institution where such coaching is given for Entrance Test?
  • Gautam Bagga

Nursery syllabus in schools usually does not cover this much compared to the requirement for entrance test, you will have to take extra step to cover the syllabus. We also had to sit with our kid each day for practice session for one hour for her entrance preparation.

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Gautamji and @Supriyoji,   I had a hearty laugh at both of your remarks.  Is getting admission in Mount caramal as difficult in getting in IIT that coaching has to be given.    What does dodging means pls.

  • Rahul Verma

omg !!...coaching for KG entrance test !!!

Refresh your thoughts...I think watch a good movie like 3 idiots/ Taare Zameen par. For god's sake please spare the kids of this undue pressure.

@Meeniakshi...dodging means asking A to Z or numbers out of order

  • Nishant Maheshwari

Comprehension for KG class entrance test...Coaching...... My goodness..... Is it really worth it to send our child to a school which puts so much stress on them......

  • Gautam Bagga

@ Supriyo: Coaching institute(this was a joke of the day:), dont mind :)

Parents are the best coach for these small kids....

I would not seriously know what came in the question paper as they did not disclose it and my daughter wanted to go for rides as soon as she finished her exam and till date she has not revealed what all was asked.....

@ Nishant: Comprehension does not mean that a child gets asked to read paras but general english communication which a child can understand

While I agree that we as parents had to take pain to get her prepared for the entrance but we did not do it like a coaching, we chose to do it in a more funny manner which can grasp the attention of a child

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Gautamji,   Just to summarize, we had a good laugh... and your daughter deserves to be in a good school like Mount Caramel after clearing such a tough paper.

  • Supriyo Ghosh

Any test for Kg, expect question from Class 1 Syllabus...If there are coaching for Abacus/Vedic Match from Age 3 +, there is definitely specialized coaching required for KG or Class 1 admission. We are from Old school of thoughts, and we believe academics is our only stair to climb up....3 idiots and Taare Zamin Par is good to watch ...not on real life ...at least to hard working middle class like me
  • Meenakshi Sharma

@really tough to get to good schools.  Gautamji sitting with her daughter for 1 hour daily for preparation shows the seriousness of the situation.

  • Gautam Bagga

I used to only supervise, my wife used to sit with her as she her self is a teacher and knows how to handle kids

  • Rahul Verma

Yes, Supriyo, please rush to a good coaching centre...kahi waha bhi seats full na ho jaaye...and btw good coaching center also take entrance test ..to uski bhi coaching hoti hogi.. :)

  • Gautam Bagga

By the way dodging means that from 1 to 50, teacher can ask any series in between to either describe orally or written e.g. teacher may ask a child to start from 21 and recite upto 35 and like wise in written they will give fill in the blank e.g. 21, 22, 23, ----, ----, 26, ----, 28, -----, ----, 31 etc etc.

Similar dodging in English from A to Z

  • Gautam Bagga

dodging also means what comes before & after e.g. what comes before 10? what comes before C? what comes after 22....likewise

  • Meenakshi Sharma

So basically what I gather is if the child passes this entrance exam, he can pass IIT or IIM in future..... So Gautamji, congrats.  Your daughter must be quite brilliant and kudos to your wife who had such great patience which culminated in success.

  • Supriyo Ghosh

I had no luck to get thru the 1st grade 3/4 schools , I had no jacks to approach those school and get Management quota seat , what is all mine is the Hard work and preparation...If that makes someone laugh, they are from different planet of belief...Hard work counts to every field...down 13/14 years down the line, the IIT/IIm may not be the only sought after institute, in Europe and US, already inclination to Engineering is decreasing...But whatever exam my child has to face, I want her to make preparation for that
  • Gautam Bagga

@ Smriti, yes you are right in your example....kids gets confused a lot with simiar sounding names e.g. my daughter still gets confused between thirteen and thirty, fifteen and fifty, sixteen and sixty and like wise where sound is same as these are small kids and do not understand the relevance of 16 versus 60.....at home when we used to ask her to write sixteen she would immediately ask us whether to write 16 or 60.....but this need lot of patience for parents to softly handle a child

  • Nishant Maheshwari

Guys, please chill and lets not bully anyone here..... we gave our view points and should respect others...... every parent is super stressed here....so lets not make fun of anyone

  • Meenakshi Sharma

We all are in same boat.  We are joking among ourselves and having a fun time.

  • Nishant Maheshwari

    @ Supriyo Ghosh.....

Completely understand your view point..... and good quality education is a must for every child.... Just saying that don't stress too much....... your child will get into a very good school..... All the very best..

  • Ashish agarwal

Parents please don't put so much pressure on your child. I know all parents want to get admission in good school but if school gives so much pressure to such little kids, frankly speaking I will never send  my kids in those schools. Hard work is good thing but think guys they too small to take that pressure.

  • Supriyo Ghosh

No Nishant ji...Making Fun of others---That is a great quality ...If you can make fun of others, that too jointly, you become a smart person ...On top of it, If you can transfer this legacy to your children from early age, they also become smart in near future.....
  • Meenakshi Sharma

@Ashishji, I agree with your views.

  • Naveen Bansal

SVIS called me for understanding Fee structure tomorrow. What does that mean..I was not in the waiting list and confirmed list as well. Are they asking for extra money.

  • Priyanka kamra

SVIS called us also yesterday. that ur ward is selected please come and meet for fee structure. when i came there today one accountant cane out with my daughter form and said mam ur ward is selected but ur ward fee structure little bit change. you have to pay Rs 1 lac for management seat and 40k for first quarter fees through cheque.

  • Dr Nitesh Singh

@Naveen bansal ,they called me yesterday on reaching today they told me that ur child has been selected in second list so you need to deposit 48k including first quarter fee as cheque n fill the admission form.they didn't asked for any donation or extra charges...
  • Dr Nitesh Singh

I too was not in the waiting list ..I don't know how they have made the second list
  • Naveen Bansal

Please share the fee structure of SVIS Dwarka

  • Meenakshi Sharma

@For SVIS, if somebody could explain to me for first quarter 46000 and next quarter 28000 so does it mean that only for 1st quarter they charge higher.

  • Vidya Sagar Uprety

SVIS this year's fee is 48000 at the time of admission which includes first quarter fee as well. for remaining three quarters it is 30300 excluding transport (2400 PM within Dwarka). Hope this helps.

  • Sameer

Are schools really charging such high donation for nursery admission??

  • Ashish agarwal

anyone know about the fee structure of Maxfort school

  • Prince Sidana

@Sameer: They are charging as we are willing to pay there are good schools where seats are left can be get without any donation.

Also if all have some patience they will give seat without any donation what i think and have experienced in last two months.
