  • AMIT

Urgent...i have already admitted my child in ASN Sr. Sec but now can get admission in Salwan Mayur Vihar as well. ASN is only 4 km and Salwan is 8.5 km from my home.

Is it worth changing...how much points you will give both schools out of 10?

  • mayank gangil

As Sakshi told me Salwan is better than ASN, i had same issue ASN was arnd 3 KM and Salwan 6-8 Km , still chose Salwan.

Salwan is still admitting ?? i thought they have ended their process and filled vacant seats with waiting candidates.

  • Sakshi (Moderator)

    Amit

    Salwan>ASN.

    Rest final call is yours.

  • yogender

Distance matter for small kids. Many time traffic jams also makes 8 km distance to 12km.child will be totally exhausted i guess in long distance school.. My 3 year daughter start head spiining when she sit on our cab. Now i m worried how she will go 3 km by school bus lol.
  • AMIT

    thanks

Can you make some comparison btw asn and salwan..like infra, academics etc.

  • Sakshi (Moderator)

    Amit

    See the reviews  below.

    http://www.admissionsnursery.com/main/search/search?q=Salwan+Mv

    http://www.admissionsnursery.com/main/search/search?q=ASN+Sr.+Sec+

Rest parents can share inputs and you need to take final call as it should be convenient to you.

  • Nad

@Amit : Distance is very important for kids. If Salwan is 8 Km from your home and ASN just 4. I would say go for ASN as its nearer.

Both are equally good and best schools in Delhi. So, you may take a call accordingly.

I have spoken to some parents in ASN and Salwan both from 1st std.. both of them were equally happy. Holistic growth in both.

I did not apply for Salwan as it was 10 Km from my home and ASN was 3-4 km.

My son luckily got selected in ASN.

    I am happy :)

  • Nad

@Sakhshi : Sometimes I wonder, why we as parents become so choosy for schools. At the end of the day, what matters is holistic development of child and for that we don't need No. 1 school of India . We need a school nearer to our homes/ good reviews about it --1st hand reviews from parents about the school and past academic and co curricular activities results and No negative news about the School. So, why we become so choosy. your valuable comments on it. Sometimes I believe we become so choosy that we forget its a school and not choosing Ivy league colleges.

  • mayank gangil

@Nad its very individual choice and its not new phenomenon any parent would try and want best for their kids in their capacity.

  • Sakshi (Moderator)

    Nad.

    I agree with you.

    My 2 cents.

Last year Delhi Govt  Admission Criteria for Pvt schools on Govt land (around 450 School) was on basis of Neighborhood points only.( As per lease deed clause on those school on Govt land) i.e Distance.

Delhi Govt lost the case in Hon' High Court against schools ( Also many parents have discussion in favor and against it on forum also ) As its their fundamental right to choose any school was the reason given by Hon' HC.

    So its personal preference.

You cam see last year thread.

    http://www.admissionsnursery.com/forum/topics/nursery-admissions-in...

  • Nad

yes. I completely agree with you.. Its a matter of personal choice.. but I think these days.. its just hyped up.

There are so many Kendriya Vidyalayas which are far better than many of so called top 50 schools of Delhi.. but no one talking about it.

Anyways.. Good luck to all.. Hope your child get the best !

I am through with ASN ! Hope I meet some of you in ASN on 3rd April.

  • Sakshi (Moderator)

    Mayank/Nad

Yes that the argument was in Hon' HC and on Forum. The solution is to have more good schools equally distributed  in all parts of Delhi.

As South Delhi and Dwarka have  more good  schools in comparison than East delhi.

  • Deepak Garg

    Hi Sakshi,

My child has got admissions in two schools: DAV Mausam Vihar and St. Joseph's Academy Savita Vihar. Please help with which school should i proceed. Both schools are equal in terms of distance.

  • Deepak Garg

@ Vishal Pandey: If u have applied in east delhi schools, u can go and request in St. Josephs academy, they have few vacant seats.

  • yogender

In my openion we should choose school in 1 ways first is most important distance.. Coz they r just small kids not like us who can travel in flights for 20-20hours..they need rest too.. We cant put burden on their solders.. If we r applying for class 5th or above then its okay we can send them any school.. Distance no matter that time.. But just think about them now
. How they will manage travel time.. How they will get free time..big schools big burden.... Good luck... Others choice is yours guysss
  • Sakshi (Moderator)

    @Deepak

    DAV Mausam Vihar.

  • Kapil Anand

Ryan Intl or Vivekanand School, D block Anand Vihar? Which one should I go. Really confused

  • Sakshi (Moderator)

    Yogender

Agreed as 3 yrs old are quite young to travel, but many parents from south delhi are sending children to SBS,Shiv Nadar,Pathways, Global Genesis etc.

As they have choice also of sending children to nearby schools.

Some feel their children will have stong foundation in formative years.

Yes many running after brands also.

    So its individual thought process.

But i personally feel distance plays very imp role overall.

If someone asks about reviews, we have to be honest.

  • Deepak Garg

    Thanks Sakshi.

  • Sakshi (Moderator)

    Deepak

    Anytime :)

  • Nad

@Sakshi : I completely agree with you. Distance do play pivotal role for Nursery admissions.

  • yogender

First of all listen from other.. Then think what others say.... Then do what u like or think..
  • Sakshi (Moderator)

    @Nad

    Thanks :)

    @yogender

    True :)

  • AMIT

@mayank: Salwan fees with increase in 10-15%, so almost 25K per quarter.

  • AMIT

@sakshi: Got a message from admissionnursery regarding Schools of Excellence....what is this about?
