Both set of parents are satisfied. Amity Sec 6 parents say they are satisfied. There is no wow factor in the school but it is a school the way a school should be and they are happy.
Parents of FAS very satisfied and happy. Acc to them it is the best school in & around Indirapuram, no doubt about it.
2. Although for nursery and prep, Student teacher ratio is better for Amity as in 35 stu :2 tea:1 maid vis-a-vis 40 stu :1tea :1maid. But FAS parents told us that though this is the case but they have managed the kids well.
After 2 years anyways student teacher ratio would be same for both the schools.
3. Academically both are good schools. Both of them are known best for their academics only. But I have heard that in Amity there is lot of pressure on kids after 1st standard as in every other day there are tests , worksheets. They are burdened with lots of studies after 1st std itself. On the other hand in FAS, studies are carried out in a much more phased out and proper manner wherein kids doesn't feel burdened and have enough time for other things.
4. Lot of project work etc after 1st std in amity which actually parents do and not kid .apart from kids parents also are burdened with stuff. so you really need to provide lot of time and effort to your kid for their HW, projects etc.
5. Extra curricular - I think both are equivalent on that aspect. Amity never heard great for extra curricular. Similarly FAS has its share of sports like swimming, skating, lawn tennis etc.
6. Teaching methodology- Again there are smart boards in FAS but they teach in a more traditional approach. In amity, I think being a new school they might be adopting different creative methods of teaching that is why they I think have more project work etc.
7. Other than that who so ever I have asked have advised me to go for FAS since I have a choice.
8. I haven't had a chance to see amity sec 6 infrastructure as just went in the reception area and principal's room for interaction. But really liked fas infrastructure , its auditorium , playground , reception area where we waited , it was quite airy and nice. Got a good feel in the school.
9. Stay in Indirapuram so distance is almost same for both these schools.
10. Fees is at a lower end in FAS although just by a margin of Rs. 2000-2500 per month vis-a-vis Amity sec 6.
11. Finally, I liked the school philosphy. It's a convent school and being from a convent school myself , I know there is lot of focus on discipline, goodness and academics. The school teach to needy people etc tells us that they do good things and they have opened a school not just as a business but as an institution for imparting education. On the other hand, Amity has a reputation of being a business center though it doesn't take away the fact that the school is really providing best of services.
Being a first time parent, these are my views from different feedbacks that I have got. So this isn't a firsthand experience. So please feel free to add on or comment if you don't feel the same way or you haven't got the similar kind of feedback. It's perfectly alright and you are welcome to share your views.
Thanks …

r your Interaction at DPSI.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Appala your concerns are valid...
But DPSI this year is doing it very well by giving chance to all parents who are serious for the school and have filled the forms..at least they have not shortlisted for interaction a few ones on some vague criteria/lottery basis/random basis as other schools have done prior to it...
So next round of interactions for parents having reg. no. from 301 to 500 have started from today...your turn will come sure as assured by the school to all parents...
Regarding nos. of seats, results declared and actual admission taken....its the same as situation in all good schools of Noida... you can see still interaction/results in process in Amity Noida & Apeejay Noida...as many parents who are already selected go for some other school as per their choice..this is a continuous process....some schools declare 1st,2nd or even 3rd waiting lists and some continue their selection process.....
DPSI has so far selected 112 out of 300...not all will join as per the reasoning given above (many must would have admitted their kid in some other schools)...so selection will continue for all the registered candidates...as probability is not certain for how many join or not, that may be the reason they are calling in batches....in that seqence your turn may come in 3rd batch (may be around 25th Oct onwards)..so keep your hopes alive..
as per selection process as Gauri had explained, :-it is very simple and clear--child's general observation in a different room alongwith other kids...a playful way..where if child takes it easy and enjoys all things and company of other kids..then its a good sign...
--parents' interaction in a group of 15-20 with the principal & headmistress--similar way as happened in DPS Noida-their pls talk about yourself in a very clear, precise and succinct way---about your qualifications, profession, hobbies (if you can),...and let your spouse also speak in the same eloquent way as you have spoken....
All the best…
s for putting together this amazing platform and in this busy world you are making the life of parents much easier.
I have not been much active in terms of posting but I think I have read all the posts and kept myself updated with happenings in the ‘World of Nursery Admissions’.
I stay in Indirapuram and my son will turn 3 in Dec, 14. So he is among the younger kids of the eligible kids (some school 3-4. Some 3.5-4.5).
I am sharing my experience. I applied in 6 schools:
DPSI- Not selected. But few days back they sent a letter saying my kid is selected for DPSI, Meerut road. But I was not interested due to distance and this being a new school.
Amity V6: Not shortlisted for 2nd interaction.
FAS: Not shortlisted for 2nd interaction.
Khaitan N: Short listed but not selected for final admission.
St. Francis: My kid was not in mood I guess and the interaction was not good. So I am taking it as a NO.
DPSGV: Not selected initially. But Due to few parents opting out (I think they had other better options) we got a call that my kid is selected for admission.
So finally after 2 stressful months, I have some relief. I need to do the formalities by tomorrow.
After getting disappointment from all schools I had started thinking of schools which are not very much sought after. Like SC DAV, ST Teresa, Presdium, Cambridge Ind. But we got lucky with DPSGV.
I know DPSGV is not the best and I saw posts from parents whose kids are studying at DPSGV, they seems satisfied to me. I would appreciate any final suggestions before I do the final formalities tomorrow. I understand parent’s quality time with kid is much more important than anything else.
Thanks,
Amit…

g this intense Admission pressure every year here in Delhi & NCR, it certainly put us in a fix where we have less choices of schools as per our liking and the demand/applicants are too many..In this Forum we parents share our hands on experiences as faced in yesteryears and then discuss with current parents to enable them for an informed choice which may or may not affect the decision taken by them But it certainly gives them a platform on which decision making becomes easier..Ultimately it is for the parents to decide finally keeping the interest of their child in focus and then looking at various parameters by weighing them on the choices in hand That’s the reason I think we should not go after a predetermined mindset of Ranking the schools.. as there is immense information (right or wrong) available which may confuse one and may create an argument (however valid it may be) where one specific school for someone may seem better but for others may seem inferior.Me & my spouse being a parent, was on the same boat in 2 & 4 years back to admit our two kids..when this forum became a helpful hand ...by getting various viewpoints of other experienced parents and thus helped us immensely to decide, looking at the options we had at that time..Friends, pls read all the viewpoints raised here in this forum this year or from yesteryears regarding your choice of schools, visit to the schools personally, feel the real environment there, talk to the parents (who will be waiting there to drop/pick their wards), talk to the kids (if possible) and then frame an informed decision for your choices...Many schools in Noida/Ghaziabad areas are long established and have a traditional pedagogy which is well proven and thus giving excellent academic results consistently. They have ample infrastructure, balance focus on extra curriculars, they keep on adapting to newer trends and have a wide alumni base. These schools may become one set of your choices depending on the main factor of distance from your residence. ( e.g. Noida- DPS Noida, Amity Noida, Apeejay, Somerville, Father Agnel, Cambridge, Vishwa Bharti, Bal Bharati, Khaitan, Army Public School, etc.)Ghaziabad- DPS Ghaziabad, DPS Indirapuram,Amity Vasundhara, DPSGhaziabad Vasundhara, St. Francis, St. Thomas, Cambridge,DLF Public, Bla Bharati, Uttam school for girls etc.) ((Again in traditional schools there are some from well managed chains/trusts/groups like DPSs, Amities, Apeejays...etc.. which can also narrow down your choices..))Some other newer age schools are set up in this area who have adopted an experimental way of teaching based on holistic development of kids and enable them good modern age infrastructure and technology but don't have the backing of many years of academic records ( esp of 10th & 12 stds.)..these schools may form a different set of choice for you. But as has been seen these newer age schools have the fee structure slightly higher than the traditional schools. ( e.g.-Step by Step, Lotus Valley, Shriram Millenium, Kothari, Mayoor, Genesis Global, Pathways etc.) So from approx 38 schools of Noida & 30 schools of Ghaziabad ( pls see the excel sheet in this Forum)..mainly the 10-15 well known schools have the majority of competition going on as most of the parents are opting only for these schools based on their long established information..As a suggestion pls apply to as many schools as you can depending on the distance criteria and block at least one choice ( whatever you get) as any school can become a good choice once the school and the parents together willingly shape the future of the child in a mutual way..(Some of the viewpoints shared about a good school from we parents’ perspective can be found in this discussion thread: http://www.admissionsnursery.com/forum/topics/answers-to-all-questions?id=2660304%3ATopic%3A109776&page=83#comments)
