Jesus& mary and Carmel Convent are good convent schools for girls and are comparable to the best ones in terms of academics.Its entirely your own personal choice that you want your child in a co-ed or a sole for girls school. Regarding Sanskriti school, it is one of the fastest growing school in recent times in all round educational development of the child but as you know major quota is for the top civil servants' kids---comptetion for General category is very very stiff as you can infer from last year's details that out of total 125 seats in Nursery only 25 were open for the General category. And as informed, they were not providing school bus transportation for the Nursery students. Topic: Cases of child abuse rising in Ghaziabad schools | Hindustan Times Ghaziabad, November 07, 2012: hree-and-a-half years old — were allegedly molested by a caretaker of Mother’s Pride school in Indirapuram in the national capital region. Police arrested the school caretaker, Sher Singh, on Tuesday. About two months ago, the driver and conductor of a school bus were arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a six-year-old girl student of DPS, Vasundhara. The molestation case came to light on Tuesday, when one of the children refused to attend school. When her mother, who happens to be a teacher at the same school, enquired, she said the caretaker had molested her and a classmate during recess. The girl also told her mother that the caretaker had done this quite a few times and warned them not to mention it to anyone. Twenty-five-year-old Singh has been employed with the school for the past three years. The victim’s parents claimed to have reported the matter to the school authorities on Tuesday morning and were assured by the school authorities that immediate action would be taken. But they alleged that the school authorities did not report the matter to the police till late evening. Gorakh Nath Yadav, station in-charge of Indirapuram police station said, “We have arrested the accused and booked him for molestation. Police will investigate the role of the school authorities in the matter. Both students have been sent for the medical examination.” He added that police investigations were underway and they were questioning Singh, who would be produced in a Ghaziabad court on Wednesday The molestation of two pre-school children by a school caretaker on Tuesday is not a one-off incident. Of late, there have been several such instances where the security of children have been compromised in schools. But the police and administration seem helpless in the prevention of such incidents. In September, a six-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted by the driver and conductor of a reputed public school in Vasundhara. The incident had led to a huge public outcry. Due to public pressure, the school authorities had finally admitted their mistake. An inquiry had also been ordered by the district administration into the incident. However, the girl’s parents withdrew her from the school as they were not assured of child’s safety. “Such cases are on the rise. The administration has to ensure that all kids, especially girls, are safe in schools. There is no fear of police among criminals. School authorities must also be held responsible for the incident,” said col (retd) TP Tyagi of the Ghaziabad RWA Federation. Acting swiftly, senior police and administration officials have already ordered an inquiry into Tuesday’s incident to be conducted by the district’s basic education officer. “The inquiry will bring out all facts. If found guilty, action will be taken against school officials. We will also seek an explanation as to why no female caretakers were employed for the children,” superintendent of police (SP) SS Yadav told Hindustan Times. Police sources said that the accused has admitted to his crime. Revealing more into the incident, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Prashant Kumar said though there were reports about two girls being molested, only one girl’s parents had filed a complaint. “If anyone has more complaints, they can freely approach the police. Topic: First list of nurser{admissioPs out -PIONEER- JAN 18: announced its first list on Monday while DPS Vasant Kunj announced the list of short-listed candidates. Many schools are expected to announce the first list from January 22 to February 1. Mother of a three-year-old from South Delhi said, “I was expecting the schools to release their first list after some time. My son has not qualified in the DPS International School, Saket but it may be because the school was considering children aged three-and-a-half years of age”. The eligibility criterion for nursery in DPS International School is three-and-a-half years. Some parents were expecting the schools to release the first lists by the end of the month, as the Directorate of Education directs schools to release the first list by February 1, 2011 in its guidelines. Parents seemed an anxious lot on Monday. Alok Garg, father of a three-year old from East Delhi said, “Our main issue is the refund of money because of the variation in announcement of the first list by schools. The schools are not giving us a month’s time to get our money refunded. What if my child qualifies in the first list of some average school and also manages to qualify in the second list of a better school? We will lose on a month’s fees.” According to the rules followed by the DoE, it is mandatory for the schools to refund the complete fees within a month’s time. In this case the schools are supposed to deduct only `200 which is the fixed admission fee for all public schools whereas, if the parents ask for a refund after a month’s time, the schools deduct a month’s tuition fee as well. Tuition fees of schools vary from `500 to `6,000 from one school to another school. Meanwhile, schools were found violating the norms once again. Sardar Patel School, Lodhi Estate in its website has mentioned that it will release its first list by March 10 whereas according to the DoE guidelines the last date for declaration of first list by schools is February 1.
