For your son you must try after getting admission of your daughter ..in the same school ..it depends on vacancy..THEY must go in the same school for lot of logical reasons ,,but if there is no vacancy u can put your son in any other school and in mar - apr ..there are lot of vacancies so ..its luck also

y in a fix over the minimum age when their tiny tots should start their schooling, though the process for nursery admission for the next academic year is yet to begin. This is because there is a mismatch in the age limit for nursery admission in Delhi and Gurgaon schools. While the minimum age for admission to nursery classes in Delhi is three years, many schools in the Millenium City, such as the Delhi Public School (DPS), have set three-and-a-half years as the age limit. This is because nursery admissions in the national capital are regulated by the directorate of education (DoE), which has set the minimum age limit. Whereas there is no such school regulator in Gurgaon, which lets Gurgaon schools frame their own rules. Many parents who seek their wards' entry to a reputed school in Gurgaon are now left with only one question: "What is the age limit - three or three-and-a-half years?" Rajat Yadav is one such worried parent. Though his son, born in February 2011, would be eligible for admission to nursery class in any Delhi school, he may not get a seat in many prominent schools in Gurgaon. "Schools like DPS in Sushant Lok and Sector 45 have set the minimum age criterion for admission to nursery class at three-and-a-half years," he says. The city schools, meanwhile, have no particular reasons, when asked about setting the age limit for nursery admission at three-and-a-half years. "Delhi has a mandate of minimum age criterion of three years in their schools, which is not there in Gurgaon. So, we have kept the minimum age limit at three-and-a-half years," Sunita Nagpal, vice principal of Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok, told TOI. However, some city schools like Amity International School and GD Goenka Public School in Sector 48, follow the Delhi rule. "As there are no specific rules in Gurgaon, we found it reasonable to follow the Delhi rules," says Neha Verma, admissions in-charge of GD Goenka Public School at Sector 48. Sumit Vohra, the founder of a portal representing the parent community, says that some schools discourage nursery admissions to children before they turn three-and-a-half years as they want their pre-schools to be occupied by such children. "I wonder why can't all schools in Gurgaon follow the age criterion of three years as in Delhi?" he asks.

n at the scheduled end of the winter vacation, sparking demands from different quarters for an extension of the winter break, at least for junior sections. However, school principals ruled out any extension of the vacation since annual exams were round the corner and the syllabus needed to be completed in time. Sunita Nagpal, principal DPS Sushant Lok, said she did not believe vacations could be extended with exams nearing. "If severe cold continues, we might alter school timings," she said. "Already schools had to announce closures earlier in October-November because of heavy smog. It won't be advisable to shut classes now." DPS Sushant Lok is beginning its exams on February 27. Nagpal said the school, as a precautionary measure, might scrap physical education classes for some time and curb outdoor activities if the harsh weather continues. Other principals also ruled out shutting down schools. Their key concern was covering the remaining syllabus in time for the ensuing exams. "Frequent closures hamper the completion of syllabus," said Aarti Chopra, principal Amity World School, Gurgaon. "We might extend the vacation up to January 16 for students up to Class IV but for the senior classes were resuming classes on Monday." Chopra is open to relaxing the school opening hours but will prolong the holidays only if the government issues an order. Several other principals echoed the opinion.

"Exams will begin at Amity World School in March and we need time to finish the 20% syllabus that needs to be covered and conduct a revision," Chopra said. Many schools seemed amenable to the idea of relaxing opening time to 9am from the present 7am. Sumit Vohra, an educationist and founder AdmissionNursury.com said schools should extend the vacation till January 15, when the cold wave is likely to end. "In Delhi, schools are very responsive to extreme weather," Vohra said, adding schools must extend vacations for pre-primary classes. "The government must issue notices asking these schools to delay the opening by one or two hours," Vohra said. Schools, however, said they had already issued a circular to students on the scheduled reopening. "I don't think there will be any changes now unless we get something from the government," said a teacher from Scottish High International School…

ec45 , but it is still bit on higher side considering fees ..approx Rs 2500 pm more than SL (considering Annual fee, Quat fees).
Please advise on what criteria you are rating schools.
Result for DAV14 & 49 would be out on 14th Sep (sat). In DPs45, have to deposit fees by 13th Sep. Is there a chance I can get one day extension in fee payment.
DAV14 is a bit far from home opposite side of highway..distance around 8+ km, so think would be too much for a small child for DAV14.
We visited salwan on weekend forVOD. School infrastructure etc really looked appealing more than any other school...so one more reason top confuse. reult for salwan would be out on 19thSep.
Please share your view and any thoughts would be helpful…
