s not transferable (out of india) i think cbse is widely accepted and after 11th you can decide if you want to send your kid abroad for higher studies ,you can switch to IB in 11th class.
IB is more on holistic based but not recognised by all universities in india ,cbse has other advantages read this post by our core member Lathaaji who is educationist.

I would like to add few facts about International schools.
Many schools have queued to call themselves 'International' schools, but some of these international courses are yet to get recognition in India. Most of these schools just follow the international syllabus, but are not affiliated to any board of education in India or abroad. In addition, these schools do not come under the scanner of either the central or state school education departments. With building approvals from local bodies, it is relatively easier to start an international school without going through the bureaucratic maze.
Eventhough IGCSE is globally recognised, there are apprehensions about the validity of IGCSE in the Indian context. "Content wise IGCSE and IB are more advanced and student friendly than CBSE and ICSE. Getting affiliation from international boards is also relatively easy as compared to CBSE and ICSE.
An international school is an institution that educates students from different parts of the country and the world. Thus such schools are culturally diverse.
Indian universities seldom entertain students from schools that offer IGCSE and IB curriculums. These students can avail only the NRI quota to get admission for professional courses. Most parents are unaware of this aspect. Though there is no official ban on international school students from joining Indian universities and colleges, the fact is that the admission procedures are tougher for them.
Unfortunately, the newly started schools in Delhi are not as yet ready to accommodate foreign students. Eminent educationist S Rajagopal makes a forceful point against the international syllabus. "In Europe too, different countries adopt different curriculum. Education should reflect the cultural values and needs of the local community."
Moreover CBSE schools are will follow CBSE-i (CBSE International) a global curriculum which help students to compete better at international level in near future.

- last payment date at APJ) between APJ and Somerville International - After lot of research, input from play school principal and HT Top 10, last 3-5 year academic result I preferred Somerville International, Sec 132. It is individual choice. In HT rating APJ scores in extra curricular activities/sports. With respect to academic they are doing okie (In last 3 years only one kid scored 95% in 12th). One point which I got from lot of parent/teacher about APJ was it is not doing good since last 3-4 year (since last principal change - NOT AUTHENTICATED SO DO NOT MARK THIS AS VERIFIED FACT). I decided to opt for Somerville International instead of APJ (giving academic and personality development as top priority, second option - as number of sport activity within school - Note most good school provide facility of NCC, Cricket/Football, Music, Drama etc. Schools scoring high on sports provide options as swimming, horse riding etc)
Now post getting call from FAS, I am taking admission in FAS due to
Somerville International Vs FAS - My son was not eligible for DPS Noida or Somerville Noida for this year, hence taking admission in Somerville International might close next year Noida option. FAS has balanced focus on academic and extra curricular activities. Lot of people think why it has not been rated in Noida top 10. Just go and see the rating chart of HT, you will know how have they rated. No wonder school like Step by Step, Amity, Pathways, APJ can afford lot on marketing (see fees they charge from parents), where as FAS quarter fees is less then above schools monthly fee. I have got very good feedback from parent who's kids are in FAS.
My opinion is talk to parent who's kids are studying in respective schools, seek advice of people associated to education sector rather, looking internet rating parameters and schore, last 3-5 year school trend. Rating are to guide us on different parameters. It is parent's call which parameters are of their priority. It is not an easy choice to make.…
