schools are giving highest point to siblings & aluminis , therefore limiting the score. I should stand a fair chance of getting my child admitted in a school of my choice even though I may not be an alumini. Why 2 days before , the issue has come to surface. If there was so much of dissatisfaction , why did everybody including DOE not point it out when the forms were made available. The concern should be More serious towards schools like Modern ( no allocation of points - no body knows the criteria & moreover General category reservation is only 30% approx. & max. reservation is for siblings & aluminis. What has happened after the school received the notice....?? Amity School Saket - i did not find the point system anywhere on their website, what happened??? Bloom School - allocation of only 50 points balance ...no one knows???? Who gets govt job these days ???? Sanskriti school ...only 27 seats approx. for gen. category ....any action ???? MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION- if these points are not considered then WHAT IS THE NEW POINT SYSTEM???????? Let us all start applying in the schools we did not apply earlier considering that we may not score according to the point system. HOW MANY WOULD LIKE TO START THE PROCESS ONCE AGAIN ???? IS there a point system that is partial to none. ??????Sunil said:

moderators point of view.
I would like to know how the moderators suggest helping those parents who applied in schools and did not get through AND the school flouted norms. I had shared a specific post earlier as well but no response. There are more specific examples and people on the group can share even more.
- Apeejay Sheikh Sarai - Wrong criteria similar to Pitampura and MOST IMPORTANTLY - The school has declared 18 candidates which is NOT as per their declared criteria.
- Amity Saket - Never came out with a list of candidates with points. Never declared a date / time of draw of lots for neighborhood criteria. Just came out with a list
- KR Mangalam and Summerfields - Never came out with the list of candidates with points on their website. Draw of lots announced at last minute. No sufficient notice.
- GD Goenka SV - Distance criteria had 0-1 / 1-3 / 3-6 / >6 criteria for same 60 points On the day of draw, they came out with a draw for all candidates in 0-10 kms flouting the criteria they declared. The criteria is still on their website.
These are just 5 of the 19 schools I had applied for. Am sure there are more such cases elsewhere. I am not sure whether everyone has really seen this order from Education department. These schools have violated a number of guidelines set out by the Education department.
I really believe that the group upholds the spirit of a fair admission process and will try to help people who are trying to get our kids admissions in the best possible school.

दाखिले के लिए टेस्ट लेने वाले तीन स्कूलों को नोटिस- Rashtriya Sahara

Schools asked to show cause for RTE violation -Pioneer
inS
The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) on Wednesday issued show-cause notices to three prominent schools for violating the Right to Education (RTE) Act by allegedly asking students to take tests to get admission in junior classes.
“We have issued notice to Modern School-Barakhamba Road, Amity International School and Gyan Bharti School in Saket for generating screen tests to give admissions to children. The notice seeks explanation from schools and directs them to stop any such activity. “We cannot tolerate flouting of the RTE Act and strict action will be taken against any party doing so,” said Diwan Chand, Secretary of DoE.
The schools had reportedly asked children seeking admission in Classes II to XIII to write a screen test. The RTE Act guarantees free and compulsory elementary education to all children in the age group of six to 14 years. No school can, while admitting a child, subject the child or parents to any screening process.
Sumit Vohra, owner of admissionsnursery.com, an online forum, alleged that it was not the only case of its kind. “After the issue was reported, Gyan Bharti School-Saket pulled off the notice about entrance exam results from their website but it was put up on the school notice board. Similarly, many other schools are still carrying on with the process under cover. We expect the DoE to take action fast but it has got delayed for many days,” Vohra said.
Yasir Arafat, a parent, shared his experience. “I was called by Saint Giri School, Jasola, for a test on March 11 to get my child admitted in pre-primary class but the school rejected the candidature,” he said.…
top schools which are asking students to take tests to get into junior classes. Modern School, Barakhamba Road, Amity International School, Saket and Gyan Bharati School, Saket have all asked students seeking admission to Classes 2 to 8 to sit entrance exams in violation of the RTE act. No school shall, while admitting a child, subject the child or the parents to any screening procedure, says the act that guarantees free and compulsory elementary quality education to all children aged between 6 and 14.
Students applying for Classes 6 to 9 in Modern School have to take the test on March 22. Gyan Bharati is done with it and results will be out on March 9.
Modern School principal Lata Vaidyanathan told HT admissions to Classes 2 to 8 were done without a test. But the school website says something else.
“An entrance examination is conducted normally in the second or third week of March and the candidates are tested in the subjects of English, mathematics, science and Hindi,” it says.
"The candidates who qualify the written examination are called for an interview and they must be accompanied by both the parents," says the Modern School website.
Vaidyanathan claimed that the notice was a mistake.
For Amity, Saket, forms were available online till February 15. The website, too, says admission will be based on a student's performance in the written test. The school refused comment.
A complaint was sent to the directorate of education (DOE) last week by Mr Vohra
"Despite the complaint, no action has been taken. Why can't the government have a regulation for admission to these classes as well?," said Sumit Vohra, founder, admissionsnursery.com, a forum for parents.
The DOE would take strict action against the erring schools, Delhi education minister Kiran Walia told HT.

My last point when Show Cause Notice was served to Mt Carmel School on 20th Feb 2013
1 Why it has not been uploaded on DOE websites under public circulars ?
2 What action has been taken against by DOE as more than 2 weeks have passed by and School was given 7 days to answer ?
3 Are School Authorities ready to change the age criteria to Min 3 years 31Mar for Nursery from next year ( Sir , we are biggest parents community of 55,000 parents in India and i got max queries in last one week related to Mt Carmel)

…
my last engg exam written 13years ago came up..lol..but the questions were not at all hard and also the fact that sufficient time was given by the school to answer them made it quite easy..i thought that almost all of the questions have been covered in this forum and so it shouldn't be a problem for the forum members..as madhumita dasgupta commented, the only additional surprise detail asked was the eduction qualification details of our child's maternal and paternal grandparents..
i also want to share an important info. since our daughter is very soft spoken we were always scared that she would not be able to face any new interview without crying and hence requested her class teacher at preschool to prepare her mentally, which they agreed and did for an hour on the day of the interview at the school. It really worked wonders for our daughter. She was so happy after coming out from the interaction room, and the first thing she said " I didn't cry because I had promised ma'am I will not cry"...well if the child does not cry then 90% of the problem is solved....
so i advice all parents to look into this and get your child mentally prepared, preferably on the same day of the interview so that they can get through easily. Also make sure that the child sleeps properly the previous night, otherwise there is a danger of them feeling sleepy during their interaction period. I actually saw a couple trying desperately to keep their daughter awake who simply was in no mood to listen.....
finally i must also mention that this is a lovely forum through which we could collect lot of information and did our homework which helped us in answering the questions easily. now we really feel confident of attending more interviews...lol..
thanks for the admin and all the forum members and wish all the parents best of luck...
THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS NO KIDS INTERVIEW IN SAKET…
