Got MSG from BBPS on mobile yesterday about draw today in school premises but stopped at the gate as my child's name did not figure in list put up of children who had 45 points & were eligible for draw. On insisting that my child is eligible as I received a msg to the effect was met with disdain & "new entry" written on the registration form copy I carried on my person. This set me thinking that if they did not have the name on the entry list would they have considered to put the same in the box for Draw(that despite making the coveted grade of 45 points!)? I wonder if all parents whose child's name was not called out in that nerve-racking (yes, that is what nursery admission for our children has turned into)15 minutes of the draw feel that their child's name may have been missed out from being added in that box - a box which for all anxious parents remained the
Pandora's box till the very end when hope turned to despair. What now! What are these parents to do? Wait for schools to call us, ask for hefty donations which we should take up to assure my child gets a semblance of eduction? Do we stand a chance anywhere by not getting in this milieu of corruption & trying to hold our own!
