they are asking because some of people like me did not deposit fees in spite being in draw of lots. for me, i did not deposit because of unclear refund policy and the fact that i had deposited in one school already

My daughter is waitlisted in manava bharati. from your post i came to know that they calling parents for admission. The same day i called up school for assurance. one lady confirmed me that they are calling parents from the first list i.e candidates selected in the 10. am draw. The 2nd lottery was for wait listed candidates. She asked me how serious i am regarding admission in Manava bharati. would i withdraw after taking admission. I dont know why she asked me this question.

Comment by geeti on February 11, 2013 at 9:49am: i have a question for parents who received verification calls from amrita! how many points did you score. my score is 40. distance 20 first born child 20. Am i nt receiving any calls from both amity and amrita becoz of the low score or somebody with same points are getting selected. it will help me to understand how schools are screening parents.
