I am bit confused father, as I cannot find the latest verdict from High Court expected today. It is really confusing as to what is expected to be on the verdict against the below quotes:

However, the categorizations of kids by schools in admission have specifically been barred by the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, it said, adding some schools give preferences in admission on grounds such as religion, alumni and sibling.

“You (DoE) cannot dilute the provision of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act. You are giving preference to one child over another, which is against the Act, by allowing them (schools) to formulate their own admission criteria,” the court said.

In context to schools at Dwarka publications of results are highly diversified on dates, which makes every parents to rest in dilemma. I am trying to understand the understand the process in order to take the correct decision. Appreciate anyone's help, specifically from Shaskhi & Laatha madam.

okay...with all due respect to pros and cons for each criteria/solution offered, all I want to know is, WHEN is this ending? WHEN exactly do we expect a decision from the HC? I did read some posts saying that decision will be taken to SC. So do we expect this to end anytime soon? Dont we know that court cases in our country takes years to come to any sort of verdict?

Let’s think about the following criteria:

25% of total seats for EWS with the present existing criteria as has been approved by the High Court

15-20% of seats for sibling ( in case the applicants are more in this category, go for draw of lots and in case applicants are less, remaining seats go to general category)

All remaining seats through draw of lots ---DOE should get a software prepared which should be tested by an independent agency for random picking and must be mandatory for each School to use for conducting draw of lots.

All talk of neighborhood or distance getting priority doesn’t make sense as the choice of Schools where parents apply for admission of their child should best be left to them---if  some parents are comfortable with their kid travelling 30-40 km everyday or can make their own arrangements just to see their kid go to a particular school only—who is anyone else to question their irrational fixation.

Aster Sekhose- Please update about ambience if the draw of lots if confirmed for tomorrow morning even after all this SC-HC stuff..my son's name is there, but i dunno whether to go or not...no one's picking up in the school...hv been trying since 4.30...
