It would be interesting to hear from Mr.Aagarwal the person who has filed this PIL against the admission process what the thinks about all the confusion that is being caused by this last minute changes. Anyone has his contacts and can get a statement from him?

I am quoting here a news report on PIL filed in 2010 --- The High Court in September 2006 had constituted a panel of experts headed by Ashok Ganguly, Chairman CBSE to go into all the issues related to nursery admission. It enumerated three basic principles to evolve a common admission process, transparency, elimination of interview and minimising management’s discretion. The PIL also said the panel had formulated a 100-point scale with emphasis on uniform admission procedure for all schools. “The only agreeable point was 25 per cent reservation for children from economically weaker sections but the permission to schools to formulate their own policy to fill the remaining 75 per cent seats could not be allowed,” as per the petition.

Schools may have expert legal advisers, but the person filing the PIL is no less. The fact that HC has agreed with the points raised by the petitioner means half the battle is won. Highly unlikely that SC will stay HC order. The violation of law is too glaring to be overlooked.

I am not sure, TOI reported HC order will impact admission in 2013-14 session. Check this link:

Going purely by what the court said during the hearing, 2 points emerge--- 1) Any decision taken by the high court will be applicable to this year's admissions 2) The current admission process goes against RTE and is illegal

The schools can go to SC. But what is important is whether the SC will stay the HC decision? Seems unlikely

Yogesh, where did you get this information? Most of the schools have postponed their admission process till the court order. I cannot see anything much in news channels in this regard, just a simple statement on CNN IBN that hearing will continue tomorrow. It doesnt even say that HC will give out a verdict tomorrow.

PLEASE NOTE: The Delhi high court on Monday said  its decision would also affect nursery class admissions for the academic session 2013-14.
