Hi Smrita

Same has been case with Maxfort. They have lot of boys in their list and their point distribution is

0-3km-50
Sibling-20
Girl-20
first child -10

I don't know how a boy can score 80 point because it can be max 70 whether first child (60 = 50+10 first) or sibling (70 = 50+20 sibling)

Even i talked to some parent who were present there and got there name in the list, some of them were from outside Dwarka !!!!

Lastly, this is my observation and some parents did confirm it to me. The point criteria for Girl Child is skewing the Gender Ratio selection in schools. Today 90% parents present at the school premises were with Girl Child and managed to score 50 points because of that only. (40 neighborhood+ 5 Girl Child + 5 First Child). Though Maxfort had its own internal Criteria, its marking system too favors Girl Child (with cut off at 80: 50pts neighborhood+20pts Girl Child + 10pts First Child). Another parent confirmed that, in Bal Bhavan Intenational Dwarka, the list was mostly of Girls. The only Boys in the list were those with siblings in the school. Bal bhavan has another wierd criteria, "Single Child". It says clearly, points for only child, which is strange. Because even if my First Child is the one I am applying for admission to school, he is not my only child. But my other child is 1 yr old and is not eligible for schooling. So I dont get any points for Single Child. Somebody tell the school, WE ARE NOT IN CHINA.

Modern Convent conducted its Draw of Lots for candidates who secured 50points in the marking system. Draw was conducted fairly. they have some 137 seats, of which all candidtates scoring above 50 have been put in confirmed list. Hence, today the draw for remaining 49 seats and 50 seats for Waitlist 1, 50 seats for waitlist 2 was conducted at school premises in presence of all parents securing 50 points.

List would be up on their website on 24th january 2013 by 4:00pm along with admission details.

Even I was told ITL Draw was conducted yesterday, and the list would be put up today. Though there website says first draw is to be conducted today. How can they do this? The guard at the Gate told me the list will be put up by 1100-1130 am. Has it been up?

This is totally unfair

How can ITL conduct draw of lots without informing parents? Also some parents on this forum had received a call from the school for verification of documents much before this 23 Jan deadline.

I dont get ITL's stand...max points anyone can get is 85 that is including 50 for neighbourhood (within 10 kms), sibling (25) and girl child (10). However, in the list I do see names of boys being selected. How is this possible? Even if there is a case with single male child, max points that can be awarded will be 50 + 15 = 65. I had 75 points and was extremely hopeful of seeing my daughter's name on the list. They have not even disclosed the points allocated to the selected candidates. Do they have 60 candidates with 85 points? This is extremely unfair!!

IBN7 - MR VOHRA HIGHLIGHTS - WOULD BE POSTING MR VOHRA 'S AND PARENTS VIDEO OF IBN 7 SOON Delhi: Parents claim schools demanding 35K- Rs 1 lakh as donation for nursery

Delhi: Parents claim schools demanding Rs 1 lakh as donation for nursery

New Delhi: Guidelines issued by the Delhi Education Department on nursery admissions are being flouted by several schools in the national capital. Not only are complaints about arbitrariness by schools in the admission procedure pouring in, but several parents have also alleged that schools have been demanding hefty donation for admitting their wards.

Many parents accuse the schools of not following the Education Department guidelines. According to the guidelines the school should issue Economically Weaker Sections quota and General quota together. But some of the schools have released only the General quota list.

On January 4 the Education Department directed the schools to issue break-up of points, but even this is not been done. Parents also allege that schools have been demanding Rs 35, 000 to Rs 1 lakh as donation.

Even after Education Department's strict guidelines the schools are not following it and have been releasing the admission list on their websites. But till now neither the Delhi government nor the Education Department has taken any action against the schools.
