Ideal scenario in my view.

Keep 70 point draws done before IST removal. All draws after that invalid.

Give 3 % quota (Not 5 points) to IST just for this year. This will create a pool of seats enough to accommodate genuine IST. Give a volunteer choice to people among ISTs who wish to be considered for this 3% draw with a rider that strict document checking will be done and wrong doers will be out of the process to weed out fake ISTs (at least some of them). I am sure it will be a win-win situation for IST and general category.

For all other 70 pointers and leftover ISTs (fake and genuine) draw for remaining seats.

This will be harsh for 70 pointers who got selected after IST removal. But then they got the chance only when IST was removed, so they have to be gracious enough to help resolve the mess we are in. 

Dear Mahesh need not worry I am hopeful SC will not trouble confirmed seats. Let us see what solution they find .

I dont know which category went to HC against IST , but matter before SC is of IST restoration or some other compensatory benefit if IST is not restored. Petioners who challenged IST will be heard in SC and if they were 70 pointers who still have not got admission(though many have alos got) might give their side of the story. Restoration 5 points is very bleak as it has no basis and Govt is also against it. Maybe they will get re-draw or some other benefit. It is a double edged sword for 70 Pointers who got selected in first draw. If IST restored they are out if not restored then possible re-draw then confirmed 70 pointers will lose seats. Very difficult to predict.  

Sangeeta there is no ideal system but one can have guidelines with level playing field. It should not be a cakewalk for some. If there has to be lottery let there be in every category.

Sachin, lets say that the SC gives their decision in favour of IST, so can the 70 pointers then go and fight their case for no admissions not challenging the SC decision though? I am asking this just to confirm that this should be the last one and not any more litigations.

This year wait for SC order and for next year file PIL to get a better guideline system as some children who will be left out this year can benefit from next year guidelines. As guidelines are common for Nursery, KG/prep and First. There should be additional points for children who were left out this year.
