Same here. DPS VV in front of my house still cant get in. Maybe a child 8km away was much more lucky. My child might have to go 8 km away to study.

This is a complete hopeless situation! Never thought admissions to nursery can be tougher than admission to IITs/IIMs.

Dear Mr Majumdar, all the laws in India are made by participative approach of public and govt. Draft laws are placed in public domain and then feedback is sought from public so that draft laws can be suitably amended if required . If that process is followed then courts usually do not interfere if guideline formation process was transparent and participatory. After all this is what democarcy is all about.

This time guidelines were prepared in a hurry under court pressure and that too unilaterally. There was no justification of IST points at the start of session when all the applicants are placed similarly. If IST issue was in draft guidelines and in public domain then they would have not found place in final guidelines. Similar is expanding radius from 6 to 8 and similarly leaving out first born child.

Dear Mr Majumdar  I appreciate ur thoughst but  what is the guarantee SC will not take its time to decide. April will be over in admission process if we presume SC decides on 21st. No school will start classes till all the nursery seats are full. There will be 1st list, 2nd list some more draws etc etc.

There is a whole chaos out there. All this will take minimum 10-15 days and we are in May . Summer holidays start from 15th May 14.

70 point redraw is the second best solution if not review of guidelines.

Whatever happens this year will be a lesson for next year guidelines. If some children who do net get admission this year then better guidelines next year will help them.

On a lighter note -- doctors ki handriting, aur lawers/judges ki language dono upar se nikal jate hain !

Also what is the guarantee that the new set of guidelines will be full proof and free of any future PILs looking at the current trend of the last 4 months?
