Comment by mohd farhan on April 13, 2014 at 10:29pm: I think instead of giving points to sibling and alumni, its better to give them a quota like girls quota and draw for all who comes in 8 kms. Secondly give 2 days time to all to fill the forms in any school if any body wants to apply in more schools. By doing this I think it is justified to many of us. This is just my opinion. Rest is in the hands of court.

Comment by krishna on April 13, 2014 at 10:28pm: The real problem started with Fake IST cases and that is the reason why we 70 pointers were never called for any DRAW OF LOT.

If you see many schools have kept seats which will be filled after the verdict but schools like DPS MR had called all 240 candidates for admissions.

I wish SC understands the genuine problem of 70 pointers and of course genuine transfer cases.

I am also going to lose a seat in case of redraw. But as a lawyer i can only foresee this relief for genuine IST cases. As per last HC order they have been treated as outcast.

PLEASE SUGGEST SOME OTHER INNOVATIVE IDEA/SOLUTION.

Comment by sunny on April 13, 2014 at 9:23pm: Sakshi, suppose incase worst case scenario there is going to be a redraw of70 pointers:what would be the decision of the court of those 70 pointers who by sheer luck has got more than one seat in schools(minority schools) but they had to surrender those seats as per the high court earlier verdict. Is the honourable court going to give those confirmed seats back to them? Don't you think those parents would be suffering just because of one wrong decision?

Comment by SACHHIN SAPRA on April 13, 2014 at 8:50pm: Dear Parents now only DOE and LG can take parents out of this mess because court will only upheld or annul the HC order/guidelines and that will take time. SC is never in hurry that is why Sahara Subroto Roy is still in jail. Now it is for LG to take initiative and come out with some innovative plan to bring the matter out of court and that can only be done if it starts afresh and gives equal opportunity to all in lottery and no cakewalk for some. Most probably SC will not hear arguments before 21st April and when it starts hearing it might take time. So no point sending child to school for 15 days and pay fee for 3 months. Let us all request LG and DOE to come up with some innovative plan which convinces litigants. I believe 70 point re-draw was a good thing it gave IST equal opportunity.

Innovative ideas are welcome.

Comment by Devanjan Majumdar on April 13, 2014 at 6:50pm: Not sure if this case is actually heard in SC if there is a strong representation by the DOE or else again the decision may take a one sided direction and that will further lead to problems for everyone and god forbid further PILs!!!!! Dont know when this chapter will get closed and I can again focus on my work!!!!!!

Comment by Devanjan Majumdar on April 13, 2014 at 6:46pm: Also, thinking about the timelines, for the data that DOE could collate in 1 week this time around 3 weeks was given last time and a complete month was waisted....not sure how many weeks will now go waisted again because of this SC roadblock.
